ومنحت المحكمة في لوس أنجلوس 18 مليون دولار لمونيكا كينت، و22 مليون دولار لديبورا شولتز وزوجها، بعد أن خلصت إلى أن الشركة كانت تعلم منذ سنوات بمخاطر منتجاتها القائمة على التلك لكنها فشلت في تحذير المستهلكين.
وقبل محاولات الإفلاس، كان سجل الشركة مختلطاً في محاكمات التلك، إذ وصلت بعض الأحكام إلى 4.69 مليار دولار لنساء قلن إن البودرة تسببت في سرطان المبيض لديهن.

علاقات بودرة التلك بسرطان المبيض

Talc Powder and Ovarian Cancer Links
Most lawsuits allege ovarian cancer, while claims that talc causes a rare and deadly cancer called mesothelioma make up a smaller percentage of the allegations facing Johnson & Johnson.
The company has previously settled some of these claims, but has not reached a comprehensive national settlement, leading many mesothelioma lawsuits to trial in state courts in recent months.

Last year, Johnson & Johnson faced several large judgments in mesothelioma cases, including a ruling exceeding $900 million (specifically $966 million) in Los Angeles in October 2025.
Eric Haas, the company's vice president for legal affairs, confirmed that the company plans to appeal immediately, expecting to prevail as it has in previous unusual judgments.
Johnson & Johnson's Response
The company denies the presence of asbestos in its products or any link to cancer, noting that the claims are not supported by major U.S. health agencies.
