A 5.4 magnitude earthquake struck several cities in western Turkey today (Sunday), including Istanbul, Izmir, and Bursa, according to the Turkish Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD).
The earthquake occurred at 12:59 PM local time (09:59 GMT), with its epicenter in the Simav district of Kütahya province.
Panic Among Residents
The earthquake caused a state of anxiety among residents of the affected areas, as many residents of Istanbul shared their experiences of feeling the tremor on social media platforms.
