The National Shield Forces, the Giants Brigades, and the Tihama Resistance, supported by popular resistance, took control of the city of Mocha in the western Taiz Governorate today (Monday), after fierce battles with the Iranian-backed Houthi terrorist militia.
The Yemeni News Agency (Saba) reported from a military source that the forces, with air support, managed to seize the city of Mocha following intense confrontations with the Houthi militia, which had controlled the city since early September.
The source explained that the battles took place in several locations surrounding the city, during which various types of weapons were used, resulting in casualties among the Houthi militia, with several of their members captured, while others fled the battlefield.
He indicated that the forces continue to pursue Houthi elements and to comb through the liberated and secured areas, neighborhoods, and facilities to ensure they are free of any militia pockets.
The control of Mocha comes as part of the military operations carried out by the armed forces, under the directives of the President of the Presidential Leadership Council, the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, Dr. Rashad Mohammed Al-Alimi, as part of the "Yemen Dawn" operation to restore state institutions, liberate the capital Sana'a, and end the Houthi terrorist militia's coup.
