The Secretary-General of the Muslim World League, President of the Assembly of Muslim Scholars, Sheikh Dr. Mohammed bin Abdulkarim Al-Issa, met in the Belgian capital Brussels with leaders of the Islamic community in Belgium and a number of its community activities.
The Secretary-General began the meeting with a speech that addressed the concerns of Muslim communities in general, praising the contribution of the Belgian Islamic component in promoting values of coexistence and social cohesion, particularly mutual respect.
Al-Issa emphasized the importance of receiving fatwas and religious guidance "related to the specific circumstances of each country" from their trusted scholars, as they are most knowledgeable about their societal realities, which must be taken into account in the rules of Islamic law that state that fatwas and rulings may differ according to time, place, and circumstances.
He pointed out that the Muslim World League is pleased to have Belgian Muslim scholars participate in its conferences and gatherings, whether they are specific to Islamic affairs or general ones that include followers of different religions, discussing common issues among all in light of the League's interests according to its message and goals.
Then an open discussion took place between Al-Issa and the attendees, touching on a range of topics of mutual interest to Muslims around the world.
