لم تكتفِ السلطات بالتحقيق في ملابسات مقتل 9 طلاب ومعلم على يد الشاب أوغور، بل أصدرت قراراً فورياً بتجريد والده، الذي يشغل منصب رئيس شرطة من الدرجة الأولى، من رتبته الأمنية وكافة امتيازاته. القرار الذي نزل كالصاعقة، تضمن توقيف المسؤول الأمني رفيع المستوى للتحقيق في احتمال وجود تقصير أو علم مسبق بنوايا ابنه «القاتل».
ولم يتوقف السقوط عند الأب، فالمفاجأة كانت في تحرك الأم، وهي معلمة حكومية كانت موقوفة عن العمل، حيث تقدمت بطلب «تقاعد طوعي» هرباً من ملاحقات إدارية وقانونية تلوح في الأفق. وفي لحظات، تحولت العائلة التي كانت تمثل «هيبة الدولة» إلى عنوان لأسوأ مأساة تعليمية وأمنية شهدتها ولاية كهرمان مرعش.

The downfall did not stop at the father; the surprise came with the mother, a government teacher who had been suspended from work, as she submitted a request for "voluntary retirement" to escape impending administrative and legal repercussions. In moments, the family that once represented "the dignity of the state" turned into a symbol of the worst educational and security tragedy witnessed in Kahramanmaraş province.
Amidst public outrage, the Turkish parliament formed a special investigative committee that moved to the site of the massacre to review a series of failures that allowed the son of a security official to infiltrate the school and carry out his crime in cold blood.
