نشرت وزارة العدل الأمريكية أمس (الجمعة) المجموعة الأولى من سلسلة وثائق صادمة حول قضية الملياردير الراحل جيفري إبستين، لتكشف سلسلة جديدة من الفضائح غير المسبوقة وأسماء بارزة.

وجاء نشر هذه الوثائق بعد ضغط الكونغرس على إدارة ترمب، التي تأخرت في نشر السجلات المتعلقة بالتحقيق مع إبستين، الذي توفي في زنزانته عام 2019 أثناء انتظار محاكمته بتهم الاتجار بالقاصرات.
وأكد المسؤول الكبير في وزارة العدل تود بلانش أن الوثائق حُجبت جزئياً لحماية مئات الضحايا المحتملين، وأنه لا يتوقع صدور لوائح اتهام جديدة، فيما استنكر ديموقراطيون محاولة الإدارة الأمريكية حجب بعض الملفات التي تشير إلى تورط «رجال أثرياء ونافذين» في جزيرة إبستين للاغتصاب.
في المقابل، صرح كبير موظفي مكتب كلينتون آنجيل أورينا أن تأجيل النشر كان لحماية الإدارة الأمريكية الحالية وليس لحماية الرئيس السابق، بينما يواصل أنصار ترمب متابعة الوثائق باهتمام، معتبرين أن القضية كشفت شبكة واسعة من الشخصيات السياسية والفنية.
وتظل قضية غيسلين ماكسويل محور الاهتمام، إذ تقضي حالياً 20 عاماً بالسجن بتهمة استقطاب فتيات قاصرات لصالح إبستين، وسط توقعات بأن الوثائق المنشورة توضح بالتفصيل من ساعد إبستين ولماذا تأخر المدعون لسنوات قبل توجيه الاتهامات.
وأعادت الوثائق إثارة الجدل حول إبستين، وبيل كلينتون، ومايكل جاكسون، وترمب، وغيسلين ماكسويل، لتكشف أبعاداً جديدة للفضائح التي هزت الولايات المتحدة، وتفتح الباب أمام المزيد من التساؤلات عن أسماء بارزة أخرى قد تظهر لاحقاً.

The release of these documents came after Congress pressured the Trump administration, which had delayed releasing records related to the investigation into Epstein, who died in his cell in 2019 while awaiting trial on charges of trafficking minors.
Senior Justice Department official Todd Blanche confirmed that the documents were partially redacted to protect hundreds of potential victims, and he does not expect new indictments, while Democrats condemned the U.S. administration's attempt to withhold some files that indicate the involvement of "wealthy and influential men" in Epstein's island of abuse.
In contrast, Clinton's Chief of Staff Angel Urena stated that the delay in publication was to protect the current U.S. administration, not to protect the former president, while Trump supporters continue to follow the documents closely, considering that the case has unveiled a wide network of political and artistic figures.
The case of Ghislaine Maxwell remains a focal point, as she is currently serving 20 years in prison for recruiting underage girls for Epstein, amid expectations that the published documents detail who helped Epstein and why prosecutors delayed for years before bringing charges.
