أحدثت رحلة «إيزي جيت» من مالقة إلى لندن صدمة واسعة بين الركاب والسلطات الإسبانية، بعد أن حاولت عائلة نقل امرأة بريطانية متوفاة قبل الصعود إلى الطائرة دون إعلان وفاتها.
وصف الركاب المشهد بأنه صادم وغير مسبوق، إذ دفع 5 من أفراد العائلة الكرسي المتحرك للمرأة، وأخبروا الطاقم أنها متعبة فقط. لكن الراكبة بيترا بودينغتون لاحظت فوراً أن المسنة مترهلة بلا أي علامات حياة، وكتبت عن ذلك على وسائل التواصل الاجتماعي.
وقالت راكبة أخرى تبلغ 19 عاماً إنها كانت على بعد 3 صفوف، ورأت أفراد العائلة يتحدثون إلى المرأة وكأنها على قيد الحياة، محاولين إيقاظها وإعطاءها مشروباً، في مشهد وصفه الركاب بـ«المرعب».
وبينما كانت الطائرة تتحرك نحو المدرج، شك طاقم الضيافة في حالة المرأة، وأوقفوا الإقلاع فوراً لإجراء فحص طبي عاجل. وبعد التأكد من الوفاة، عادت الطائرة إلى المحطة، وتأجلت الرحلة نحو 12 ساعة كاملة، ما أثار غضب الركاب.
بدورها، أكدت شركة «إيزي جيت» أن المرأة كانت تحمل شهادة طبية للسفر، وأن حالتها الصحية انهارت فجأة عند الصعود، مشيرة إلى أن الطاقم تصرف وفق الإجراءات المتبعة.
وجرى استدعاء الحرس المدني الإسباني للتحقق من الوفاة، فيما لم يتم اعتقال أي من أفراد العائلة، وتستمر التحقيقات لكشف ملابسات الواقعة المثيرة للجدل.
من جانبهم، عبّر الركاب عن غضبهم الشديد بسبب التأخير وطريقة التعامل، ووصفوا المشهد بأنه صادم، خصوصاً أنهم شاهدوا أحد أفراد العائلة يمسك برأس المرأة أثناء دفع الكرسي المتحرك.
يذكر أن نقل الجثامين عبر الحدود يتطلب إجراءات معقدة وتكاليف مرتفعة تتراوح بين 3500 و4500 جنيه إسترليني، ويجب أن يتم عبر طائرات شحن وتوابيت رسمية، وليس على متن طائرات الركاب، ما يجعل تصرف العائلة غير قانوني ويزيد من جدلية الواقعة.

After confirming the death, the plane returned to the terminal, and the flight was delayed for a full 12 hours, which angered the passengers.
For its part, easyJet confirmed that the woman had a medical certificate for travel and that her health had suddenly deteriorated upon boarding, noting that the crew acted according to established procedures.
The Spanish Civil Guard was called to verify the death, and no family members were arrested, while investigations continue to uncover the circumstances surrounding the controversial incident.
Passengers expressed their intense anger over the delay and the handling of the situation, describing the scene as shocking, especially as they saw one family member holding the woman's head while pushing the wheelchair.
It is worth noting that transporting remains across borders requires complex procedures and high costs ranging from £3,500 to £4,500, and must be done via cargo planes and official coffins, not on passenger flights, which makes the family's actions illegal and adds to the controversy of the incident.
