في ظل عودة الجدل حول ملفات رجل الأعمال المدان جيفري إبستين، خرجت عارضة الأزياء العالمية ناعومي كامبل عن صمتها، لتوضح موقفها بعد ظهور اسمها ضمن وثائق ورسائل إلكترونية كُشف عنها أخيرا.
ناعومي كامبل أكدت عبر خاصية «ستوري» على حسابها في إنستغرام، أنها لا ترتبط بأي نشاط إجرامي يتعلق بإبستين، قائلة: «قلت ذلك في 2019 وسأكرره الآن: لا تتهموني عندما لا يكون هناك أي خطأ من جانبي. أنا أقف تمامًا مع الناجين الشجعان».
كيف ظهر اسمها؟
اسم ناعومي كامبل ورد ضمن قوائم اتصالات ورسائل إلكترونية وجداول مواعيد، كشفتها وزارة العدل الأمريكية، في إطار التحقيقات المرتبطة بشبكة علاقات إبستين الواسعة، التي ضمت شخصيات من عالم المال والسياسة والفن.
لكن الظهور في الوثائق (كما تؤكد) لا يعني تورطًا.
وبحسب روايتها، تعود معرفتها بإبستين إلى عام 2001، حين التقت به عبر شريكها السابق رجل الأعمال الروسي فلاديسلاف دورونين، خلال احتفال بعيد ميلادها الحادي والثلاثين. وأوضحت أنها شاهدته لاحقًا في فعاليات أزياء كبرى، من بينها عروض «فيكتوريا سيكريت»، دون أن تكون على علم بأي نشاط غير قانوني مرتبط به.
وأوضح محامو ناعومي كامبل أنها أقامت في موسكو بين عامي 2008 و2013، وأنها لم تكن تعلم أن إبستين كان مُسجَّلًا كجانٍ جنسي خلال تلك الفترة، في إشارة إلى إدانته السابقة قبل انفجار القضية عالميًا.
وفي ختام رسالتها، شددت ناعومي كامبل على تضامنها الكامل مع الضحايا، مؤكدة دعمها لكل من تعرض للإساءة، في محاولة لقطع الطريق أمام أي تأويلات تربط اسمها بالقضية.
عودة اسم إبستين إلى الواجهة تعيد معها دوائر الجدل، لكن كامبل اختارت هذه المرة المواجهة المباشرة، برسالة مقتضبة تحمل موقفًا حاسمًا: يزعم أن ظهورها في الملفات لا يعني الإدانة.
In light of the renewed debate surrounding the files of convicted businessman Jeffrey Epstein, international supermodel Naomi Campbell has broken her silence to clarify her position after her name appeared in recently disclosed documents and emails.
Naomi Campbell confirmed via the "Story" feature on her Instagram account that she is not involved in any criminal activity related to Epstein, stating: "I said this in 2019 and I will repeat it now: do not accuse me when there is no wrongdoing on my part. I stand fully with the brave survivors."
How did her name come up?
Naomi Campbell's name appeared in contact lists, emails, and schedules revealed by the U.S. Department of Justice as part of the investigations related to Epstein's extensive network of connections, which included figures from the worlds of finance, politics, and art.
However, appearing in the documents (as she confirms) does not imply involvement.
According to her account, she first met Epstein in 2001 when she was introduced to him by her former partner, Russian businessman Vladislav Doronin, during her thirty-first birthday celebration. She explained that she later saw him at major fashion events, including "Victoria's Secret" shows, without being aware of any illegal activities associated with him.
Naomi Campbell's lawyers clarified that she lived in Moscow between 2008 and 2013, and that she was unaware that Epstein was registered as a sex offender during that time, referring to his prior conviction before the case gained global attention.
In closing her message, Naomi Campbell emphasized her full solidarity with the victims, affirming her support for anyone who has suffered abuse, in an attempt to prevent any interpretations linking her name to the case.
The return of Epstein's name to the forefront brings with it circles of controversy, but this time Campbell chose direct confrontation, with a brief message carrying a decisive stance: the claim that her appearance in the files does not mean guilt.
