شهد مطار الملك خالد الدولي في الرياض، صباح الجمعة، تأخيراً ملحوظاً في عدد كبير من الرحلات الجوية، شملت ناقلات محلية ودولية، ما أدى إلى تكدس المسافرين داخل صالات المطار.

وأوضح مطار الملك خالد الدولي، في بيان رسمي، أن التأخيرات جاءت نتيجة تزامن عدد من العوامل التشغيلية خلال اليومين الماضيين، من بينها تحويل عدد من الرحلات من مطارات أخرى إلى مطار الرياض، إضافة إلى أعمال صيانة مجدولة ضمن منظومة التزود بالوقود، ما انعكس على جداول بعض الرحلات، بما في ذلك تأجيل أو إلغاء عدد منها.
ودعا المطار المسافرين إلى التواصل المباشر مع الناقلات الجوية قبل التوجه إلى المطار للتحقق من حالة الرحلات ومواعيدها المحدثة، وذلك حرصاً على راحتهم وتفادي أي ازدحام داخل مباني المطار. وأكد أن سلامة العمليات التشغيلية تأتي في مقدمة أولوياته، مشيراً إلى أن الفرق المختصة تعمل على مدار الساعة وبالتنسيق مع شركات الطيران والجهات ذات العلاقة لمعالجة المستجدات واستعادة انتظام التشغيل في أقرب وقت ممكن.
من جانبها، أفادت الخطوط السعودية بأن تحدياً تشغيلياً مؤقتاً في المطار أثّر في سير العمليات التشغيلية لعدد من شركات الطيران، من بينها «السعودية»، ما أدى إلى تأخير وإلغاء بعض الرحلات المغادرة والقادمة.
King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh witnessed a noticeable delay in a large number of flights on Friday morning, affecting both domestic and international carriers, which resulted in a buildup of passengers inside the airport terminals.

The King Khalid International Airport, in an official statement, explained that the delays were due to the convergence of several operational factors over the past two days, including the rerouting of some flights from other airports to Riyadh Airport, in addition to scheduled maintenance work within the fueling system, which impacted the schedules of some flights, including the postponement or cancellation of several of them.
The airport urged travelers to directly contact the airlines before heading to the airport to verify the status of their flights and updated schedules, in order to ensure their comfort and avoid any congestion inside the airport buildings. It emphasized that the safety of operational processes is a top priority, noting that specialized teams are working around the clock in coordination with airlines and relevant authorities to address the developments and restore normal operations as soon as possible.
For its part, Saudi Airlines reported that a temporary operational challenge at the airport affected the operational flow for several airlines, including "Saudi," leading to delays and cancellations of some departing and arriving flights.
