أصدرت مديرية الأمن العام في الأردن تحذيراً عاجلاً للمواطنين، داعية كل من يملك مدفأة غاز معروفة تجارياً باسم «الشموسة» إلى إيقاف استخدامها فوراً وعدم إشعالها داخل المنازل تحت أي ظرف، وذلك بعد تسجيل 9 حالات وفاة اختناقاً خلال 24 ساعة فقط في محافظة الزرقاء.
وشهدت الأردن حادثتين في منطقة لواء الهاشمية بمحافظة الزرقاء، حيث توفي 9 أشخاص من عائلتين منفصلتين نتيجة استنشاق غاز أول أكسيد الكربون السام الناتج عن احتراق غير كامل في المدفأة.
وأكدت التحقيقات الأولية أن «الشموسة» كانت القاسم المشترك في الحالتين، مع عدم وجود أنظمة أمان كافية لإيقاف التشغيل عند نقص الأكسجين في الغرفة.
وأوضح المتحدث باسم مديرية الأمن العام أن الجهات المعنية باشرت فحص عينات من جميع أنواع هذه المدافئ في المختبرات، وسيتم إعلان النتائج فور الانتهاء، كما شكلت فرق مشتركة جولات ميدانية لحصر المدافئ في المحلات التجارية والمعامل التصنيعية، ومنع بيعها مؤقتاً حتى صدور التقارير المخبرية.
وتتكرر حوادث الاختناق بوسائل التدفئة في الأردن كل شتاء، حيث سجلت السنوات السابقة عشرات الوفيات والإصابات بسبب الاستخدام غير الآمن للمدافئ الغازية، خصوصاً في الغرف المغلقة دون تهوية كافية أو تركها مشتعلة أثناء النوم.
وفي رد فعل، أصدرت الشركة المصنعة لـ«الشموسة» بياناً تؤكد فيه سلامة منتجاتها الأصلية وامتلاكها أنظمة أمان متقدمة، لكن التحذير الرسمي يشمل جميع الأنواع.
وجددت مديرية الأمن العام نصائحها العامة بفحص المدافئ دورياً، واستبدال خراطيم الغاز ومانعات التسرب، وتهوية المنازل بانتظام، وعدم ترك المدافئ مشتعلة أثناء النوم.
The General Security Directorate in Jordan issued an urgent warning to citizens, urging anyone who owns a gas heater commercially known as "Al-Shamosa" to stop using it immediately and not to ignite it inside homes under any circumstances, following the registration of 9 cases of suffocation deaths within just 24 hours in the Zarqa Governorate.
Jordan witnessed two incidents in the Al-Hashmiya district of Zarqa Governorate, where 9 people from two separate families died as a result of inhaling toxic carbon monoxide gas produced by incomplete combustion in the heater.
Preliminary investigations confirmed that the "Al-Shamosa" was the common factor in both cases, with insufficient safety systems to shut down when oxygen levels in the room dropped.
The spokesperson for the General Security Directorate explained that the relevant authorities began testing samples of all types of these heaters in laboratories, and results will be announced as soon as they are completed. Joint teams have also been formed for field visits to inventory the heaters in retail stores and manufacturing facilities, temporarily banning their sale until laboratory reports are issued.
Incidents of suffocation from heating methods recur in Jordan every winter, with previous years recording dozens of deaths and injuries due to the unsafe use of gas heaters, especially in closed rooms without adequate ventilation or leaving them burning while sleeping.
In response, the manufacturer of "Al-Shamosa" issued a statement confirming the safety of its original products and the presence of advanced safety systems, but the official warning includes all types.
The General Security Directorate reiterated its general advice to periodically check heaters, replace gas hoses and leak preventers, ventilate homes regularly, and not leave heaters burning while sleeping.
