في واقعة مؤلمة هزّت مواقع التواصل، أقدمت شابة أمريكية من أصول فلبينية، تُدعى إيمان أتينزا، على الانتحار داخل منزلها في لوس أنجلوس عن عمر لا يتجاوز 19 عاما، بعد سنوات من المعاناة مع اضطرابات نفسية حادة وثنائية القطب، بحسب تقرير الطب الشرعي في مقاطعة لوس أنجلوس.
وكانت أتينزا التي اشتهرت بمحتواها على منصة «تيك توك» قد حوّلت حياتها الشخصية إلى مساحة صريحة للحديث عن الاكتئاب والاضطراب النفسي، إذ شاركت متابعيها تفاصيل محاولاتها اليومية للتغلب على الرغبة في إنهاء حياتها، ووصفت ذلك في منشور سابق بأنه «شعور لا يمكن علاجه».
ورغم شهرتها الرقمية التي جذبت مئات الآلاف من المتابعين، فإن حياتها كانت سلسلة من الصراعات الداخلية والضغوط النفسية الناتجة عن التنمر الإلكتروني والاضطرابات المزمنة التي بدأت منذ طفولتها.
وأكدت والدتها في بيان مقتضب أن ابنتها كانت تحاول دوما مساعدة الآخرين عبر حديثها الصادق عن الألم النفسي، لكنها في النهاية «لم تستطع مساعدة نفسها».
