شهد حي النرجس بمنطقة التجمع الخامس في القاهرة الجديدة حادثة مأساوية أثارت صدمة واسعة بين المصريين، بعدما دهست سيدة تقود سيارتها أسرة كاملة أثناء تنزههم في حديقة عامة، ما أسفر عن وفاة الأم وإصابة أربعة من أفراد الأسرة بجروح متفاوتة.
ووقعت الحادثة في أحد شوارع حي النرجس بالتجمع الخامس، عندما فقدت سيدة – يُعتقد أنها كانت تتعلم القيادة – السيطرة على عجلة القيادة، ما أدى إلى انحراف سيارتها إلى حديقة مجاورة حيث كانت الأسرة تجلس.
وتلقت الأجهزة الأمنية بمديرية أمن القاهرة إخطارا من غرفة عمليات النجدة تضمن ورود بلاغ أفاد بوقوع حادثة مرورية وضحايا في منطقة حي النرجس بالتجمع الخامس، وعلى الفور ألقت الأجهزة الأمنية بمديرية أمن القاهرة القبض على السيدة التي كانت تقود السيارة.
وكشفت التحقيقات الأولية، أن سبب الحادثة يعود إلى اختلال عجلة القيادة بيد السائقة، ما أدى إلى انحراف السيارة بشكل مفاجئ، وأظهرت مقاطع فيديو متداولة على مواقع التواصل الاجتماعي لحظات ما بعد الحادثة، حيث تجمع السكان المصدومون حول الموقع، وسط محاولات لإسعافها.
وطلبت النيابة الاستماع إلى شهادة شهود العيان الذين تواجدوا في مكان الحادثة، وكذلك تفريغ كاميرات المراقبة في الشارع الذي وقع فيه الاصطدام، في محاولة لتحديد السرعة التي كانت تسير بها السيارة، ومدى التزامها بخط السير.
وتُعد منطقة التجمع الخامس من أرقى الأحياء السكنية في القاهرة الجديدة، وتتميز بوجود مساحات خضراء وحدائق عامة تُستخدم للتنزه العائلي، ومع ذلك، شهدت المنطقة في السنوات الأخيرة حوادث مرورية متكررة، نتيجة الازدحام وأحيانًا قلة الخبرة لدى بعض السائقين، خصوصا في المناطق السكنية.
The Narjis neighborhood in the Fifth Settlement area of New Cairo witnessed a tragic incident that shocked many Egyptians, after a woman driving her car ran over an entire family while they were enjoying a walk in a public park, resulting in the death of the mother and injuries to four family members with varying degrees of severity.
The incident occurred on one of the streets in the Narjis neighborhood in the Fifth Settlement, when a woman—believed to be learning to drive—lost control of the steering wheel, causing her car to veer into a nearby park where the family was sitting.
The security authorities at the Cairo Security Directorate received a notification from the emergency operations room reporting a traffic accident with casualties in the Narjis neighborhood of the Fifth Settlement, and immediately, the security forces arrested the woman who was driving the car.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the cause of the incident was a loss of control of the steering wheel by the driver, which led to the sudden veering of the car. Videos circulating on social media showed moments after the accident, where shocked residents gathered around the site, amid attempts to provide assistance.
The prosecution requested to hear the testimonies of eyewitnesses who were present at the scene of the accident, as well as to review the surveillance camera footage from the street where the collision occurred, in an attempt to determine the speed at which the car was traveling and its adherence to the lane.
The Fifth Settlement area is considered one of the most upscale residential neighborhoods in New Cairo, characterized by green spaces and public parks used for family outings. However, the area has witnessed repeated traffic accidents in recent years due to congestion and sometimes the inexperience of some drivers, especially in residential areas.
