الانتقادات ركزت على مضمون المشهد، الذي وُصف بأنه يتضمن «تحقيراً متعمداً للمرأة الصعيدية»، وهو ما اعتبره متابعون تجاوزاً جديداً من رمضان الذي غالباً ما يثير الجدل في أعماله ومواقفه.
