يدرس الاتحاد الأوروبي لكرة القدم (يويفا) إمكانية فتح تحقيق بشأن فترة عمل جياني إنفانتينو داخل أروقة الاتحاد، التي امتدت لنحو 16 عاماً، على خلفية مزاعم تتعلق بعلاقته بموظفة سابقة خلال توليه منصب الأمين العام للاتحاد الأوروبي.
وبحسب ما أوردته صحيفة «ديلي تلغراف» البريطانية، فإن التحقيق المحتمل قد يركز على ظروف عدد من المدفوعات والإجراءات الإدارية المرتبطة بالموظفة، وما إذا كانت العلاقة المزعومة مع إنفانتينو قد لعبت دوراً في القرارات المتعلقة بمسيرتها الوظيفية داخل «يويفا».
وكانت الصحيفة قد كشفت في وقت سابق دفع مبلغ من 6 أرقام للموظفة عقب علاقة قالت إنها كانت قائمة بينها وبين إنفانتينو. وأكد «يويفا» علمه بتلقيها المبلغ، كما أقر بأنه كان على دراية بالمزاعم المتعلقة بعلاقتها برئيس «فيفا» الحالي.
وتشير التقارير إلى أن الموظفة حصلت لاحقاً على ترقية إلى منصب إداري، إلى جانب زيادة في راتبها بلغت نحو 30%. كما أُبلغ رئيس «يويفا» آنذاك ميشيل بلاتيني بالموضوع، ونقلت الصحيفة عن مصادر أن بلاتيني وضع إنفانتينو أمام خيار مغادرة الموظفة أو رحيله هو، في ظل ما أثارته العلاقة من مخاوف داخل الاتحاد.
وغادرت الموظفة «يويفا» في وقت لاحق، وحصلت على بدل مالي قيل إنه كان متوافقاً مع اللوائح المعمول بها آنذاك بشأن مغادرة الموظفين. كما أفادت التقارير بأنها تلقت تمويلاً سنوياً بقيمة 45 ألف جنيه إسترليني لدراسة شهادة في إحدى كليات إدارة الأعمال.
ويرغب الاتحاد الأوروبي، وفقاً للتقارير، في مراجعة هذه الوقائع وتحديد الأساس الذي استندت إليه المدفوعات والقرارات الإدارية، إضافة إلى التحقق مما إذا كانت العلاقة المزعومة قد أثرت بأي شكل في القرارات الوظيفية التي اتخذت خلال فترة إنفانتينو في الاتحاد.
ولا يقتصر التدقيق المحتمل على هذه الواقعة، إذ تشير المعلومات المتداولة إلى أن «يويفا» قد يراجع أيضاً سلوك إنفانتينو خلال كامل فترة وجوده في الاتحاد الأوروبي، بين عامي 2000 و2016، في خطوة من شأنها توسيع نطاق الملف ليشمل سنوات طويلة من مسيرته الإدارية قبل انتقاله إلى رئاسة «فيفا».
في المقابل، نفى الاتحاد الدولي لكرة القدم بشكل قاطع الاتهامات، مؤكداً أن إنفانتينو يرفضها بالكامل. وقال متحدث باسم «فيفا» إن المزاعم «كاذبة تماماً»، محذراً من أن أي إيحاء بارتكاب سلوك غير لائق أو انتهاك للنظام الأساسي أو اللوائح يعد تشهيراً.
وتأتي هذه التطورات في وقت يواجه فيه إنفانتينو ضغوطاً متزايدة على خلفية خلافات داخلية بشأن قيادته لـ«فيفا»، ما يضيف ملفاً جديداً إلى سلسلة القضايا التي باتت تحيط برئيس الاتحاد الدولي، في وقت يستعد فيه لخوض معركة الولاية الرابعة.
The European Football Association (UEFA) is considering the possibility of opening an investigation into Gianni Infantino's tenure within the organization, which has lasted for nearly 16 years, in light of allegations concerning his relationship with a former employee during his time as Secretary General of UEFA.
According to the British newspaper "The Daily Telegraph," the potential investigation may focus on the circumstances surrounding several payments and administrative actions related to the employee, and whether the alleged relationship with Infantino played a role in decisions regarding her career within UEFA.
The newspaper previously revealed that a six-figure sum was paid to the employee following a relationship that it claimed existed between her and Infantino. UEFA confirmed its awareness of the payment, and acknowledged that it was aware of the allegations concerning her relationship with the current FIFA president.
Reports indicate that the employee later received a promotion to a managerial position, along with a salary increase of about 30%. The then UEFA president, Michel Platini, was informed of the matter, and the newspaper quoted sources stating that Platini presented Infantino with the choice of either the employee leaving or him departing, given the concerns raised by the relationship within the organization.
The employee later left UEFA and received a financial settlement that was said to be in accordance with the regulations in place at the time regarding employee departures. Reports also indicated that she received annual funding of £45,000 to study for a degree at a business school.
According to reports, UEFA wishes to review these events and determine the basis for the payments and administrative decisions, in addition to verifying whether the alleged relationship had any impact on the employment decisions made during Infantino's time in the organization.
The potential scrutiny is not limited to this incident, as circulating information suggests that UEFA may also review Infantino's conduct throughout his entire time in UEFA, from 2000 to 2016, in a move that would expand the scope of the file to include many years of his administrative career before he transitioned to the presidency of FIFA.
In contrast, FIFA has categorically denied the allegations, affirming that Infantino fully rejects them. A FIFA spokesperson stated that the claims are "completely false," warning that any implication of inappropriate behavior or violation of the statutes or regulations constitutes defamation.
These developments come at a time when Infantino is facing increasing pressure due to internal disputes regarding his leadership of FIFA, adding a new file to the series of issues surrounding the FIFA president as he prepares to embark on a fourth term battle.
