أجرى لاعب النصر والمنتخب السعودي سلطان الغنام، عملية جراحية في الركبة -إثر تعرضه لإصابة بقطع في الرباط- تكللت بالنجاح، وأُجريت العملية على يد الطبيب بيتر فيردونك، وكان مقرراً إجراؤها في مركز سبيتار بالدوحة قبل تأجيلها بسبب وعكة صحية.
وسيواصل الغنام برنامجه العلاجي في الدوحة، ومن المقرر عودته للملاعب نهاية يناير القادم.
وتعرض الغنام للإصابة خلال مباراة جامبا أوساكا الياباني، التي خسرها «العالمي» 0-1 بنهائي دوري «أبطال آسيا 2» في 16 مايو الماضي، ونُقِل على إثرها للعلاج قبل أن يعود ويستكمل اللقاء.
وخاض الغنام 45 مباراة بالقميص النصراوي في مختلف المسابقات الموسم المنتهي أخيراً، الذي توجه فيه النصر بلقب دوري روشن السعودي، وصنع هدفين، ونال خمس بطاقات صفراء.
Al-Nasr player and Saudi national team member Sultan Al-Ghannam underwent successful knee surgery after suffering a ligament tear. The operation was performed by Dr. Peter Verdonk and was initially scheduled to take place at the Aspetar center in Doha before being postponed due to a health issue.
Al-Ghannam will continue his rehabilitation program in Doha, and he is expected to return to the pitch by the end of January.
Al-Ghannam sustained the injury during the match against Gamba Osaka from Japan, which "Al-Nasr" lost 0-1 in the final of the "AFC Champions League 2" on May 16th. He was taken for treatment but later returned to complete the match.
Al-Ghannam played 45 matches in the Al-Nasr jersey across various competitions in the recently concluded season, in which Al-Nasr won the Saudi Roshan League title, contributed two assists, and received five yellow cards.
