أعلن بول بوغبا، نجم كرة القدم الدولي الفرنسي وبطل العالم، عن استثماره في فريق سباق الجِمال السعودي نادي الهبوب، ليصبح شريكًا وسفيرًا رسميًا للفريق الذي يُعتبر أول فريق محترف للجِمال في العالم بحسب منظميه، ويطمح إلى تحويل رياضة الجِمال التقليدية إلى نشاط احترافي بمعايير عالمية، مع رعاية طبية وحماية للحيوانات وتبني تقنيات سباق حديثة.
وشدد بوغبا في بيان على أنه «متحمس جدًا للانضمام إلى نادي الهبوب منذ أن تحدثت مع مؤسسي الفريق، إذ شعرت بشغفهم ورؤيتهم وحبهم الحقيقي لهذه الرياضة... شعرت أن هذه الفرصة مختلفة، وتعني الثقافة والإرث والقصص التي تستحق أن تُروى».
إلى جانب كونه شريكًا، فإن بوغبا سيلعب دورًا إعلاميًا وإستراتيجيًا لنشر فكرة سباق الجِمال عالميًا، مع رغبته في أن تخرج الرياضة من الإطار المحلي إلى جمهور أوسع حول العالم.
French international football star and world champion Paul Pogba announced his investment in the Saudi camel racing team Al-Hobob, becoming a partner and official ambassador for the team, which is considered the first professional camel team in the world according to its organizers. The team aims to transform traditional camel racing into a professional activity with global standards, including medical care and animal protection, while adopting modern racing technologies.
Pogba emphasized in a statement that he is "very excited to join Al-Hobob since I spoke with the founders of the team, as I felt their passion, vision, and true love for this sport... I felt that this opportunity is different, representing the culture, heritage, and stories that deserve to be told."
In addition to being a partner, Pogba will play a media and strategic role in promoting the idea of camel racing globally, with a desire to take the sport from a local framework to a wider audience around the world.
