واصلت المنتخبات السعودية الجامعية مشاركتها في دورة الألعاب العالمية للجامعات التي تستضيفها ألمانيا خلال الفترة من ١٦ - ٢٨ يوليو الجاري.
واستهل منتخب ألعاب القوى الجامعي مشاركته في الدورة بخوض ٣ سباقات، وتأهل العداء عبدالعزيز الشهراني لنصف نهائي سباق 100متر، بحلوله ثالثاً في التصفية بزمن 10:71 ثانية، فيما جاء عزام أبو بكر رابعاً في تصفية سباق 400 متر حواجز بزمن 53:41 ثانية، واحتل حسين السبع المركز الثامن في التصفية لسباق 400 متر بزمن 49:99 ثانية.
وخاض منتخب المبارزة منافسات الفرق لسلاح الأبيه التي تمكن خلالها من تحقيق المركز الثامن في الترتيب العام، إذ تغلب في دور الـ32 على الفريق البريطاني بنتيجة 44-43، ليلتقي في دور الـ16 مع الفريق الكوري الجنوبي ويتجاوزه بنتيجة 41ـ40، قبل أن يخسر من فرنسا في دور الـ8 بنتيجة 31ـ45، ثم الخسارة من سويسرا وأوكرانيا 24ـ45، 42ـ45، في مواجهتي تحديد المراكز ليحتل المركز الثامن في الترتيب العام لمنافسات الرجال.
وفي منافسات التايكوندو خاض ريان الطايفي منافسات دور الـ32 لوزن 74 كيلوغراماً وخسر من منافسه الأمريكي.
وفي منافسات كرة الطاولة، خسر محمد القصاب من منافسه الهنغاري بنتيجة ١-٤، وخسر تركي المطيري من منافسه الروسي بنتيجة ٠-٤، وبالنتيجة نفسها خسر سالم السويلم من منافسه الياباني، وكسب تركي المطيري منافسه الهندي ٣-١، في منافسات الفردي.
وفي فئة الزوجي خسر محمد القصاب وسالم السويلم، من فريق مكاو بنتيجة ٠-٣، وفاز الزوجي خالد الشريف وتركي المطيري على الفريق الكولمبي بنتيجة ٣-٠.
وتستمر المشاركة السعودية غداً، والبداية عند منتخب التايكوندو الذي سيخوض لاعبه عبدالله القميزي منافسات دور الـ64 لوزن 63 كيلوغراماً، فيما يُشارك محمد السويق في منافسات دور الـ32 لوزن 87 كيلوغراماً.
وفي منافسات كرة الطاولة، يخوض الثنائي خالد الشريف وتركي المطيري منافسات الزوجي ضمن دور الـ32، ضد الفرق الصيني.
ويخوض عداء الأخضر الجامعي عبدالعزيز الشهراني منافسات دور نصف النهائي لسباق 100 متر.
ويستهل فريق الريشة الطائرة غداً مشاركته في الدورة بخوض منافسات دور الـ64 للزوجي المختلط الذي سيمثله يزن صائغ وخديجة كوثر، كما يخوض الثنائي يزن صائغ وعبد العزيز سردار منافسات دور الـ64 لزوجي الرجال.

The Saudi university teams continued their participation in the World University Games hosted by Germany from July 16 to 28.
The university athletics team began its participation in the event by competing in three races, with runner Abdulaziz Al-Shahrani qualifying for the semifinals of the 100-meter race, finishing third in the heat with a time of 10.71 seconds. Meanwhile, Izzam Abu Bakr came in fourth in the 400-meter hurdles heat with a time of 53.41 seconds, and Hussein Al-Sab' occupied the eighth position in the 400-meter heat with a time of 49.99 seconds.
The fencing team competed in the team events for the épée weapon, where they managed to achieve eighth place in the overall ranking. They defeated the British team in the Round of 32 with a score of 44-43, then faced the South Korean team in the Round of 16 and surpassed them with a score of 41-40, before losing to France in the quarterfinals with a score of 31-45, and then losing to Switzerland and Ukraine with scores of 24-45 and 42-45, respectively, in the placement matches, thus finishing eighth in the overall ranking for the men's competitions.
In taekwondo competitions, Ryan Al-Taifi competed in the Round of 32 for the 74 kg weight category and lost to his American opponent.
In table tennis, Mohammed Al-Qassab lost to his Hungarian opponent with a score of 1-4, and Turki Al-Mutairi lost to his Russian opponent with a score of 0-4. Similarly, Salem Al-Suwailim lost to his Japanese opponent with the same score, while Turki Al-Mutairi won against his Indian opponent 3-1 in the singles competitions.
In the doubles category, Mohammed Al-Qassab and Salem Al-Suwailim lost to the Macau team with a score of 0-3, while the duo Khalid Al-Sharif and Turki Al-Mutairi won against the Colombian team with a score of 3-0.
The Saudi participation will continue tomorrow, starting with the taekwondo team, where player Abdullah Al-Qamezi will compete in the Round of 64 for the 63 kg weight category, while Mohammed Al-Suwaik will participate in the Round of 32 for the 87 kg weight category.
In table tennis, the duo Khalid Al-Sharif and Turki Al-Mutairi will compete in the doubles in the Round of 32 against the Chinese team.
