حقق الأمريكي نيك ووكر إنجازًا لافتًا في كمال الأجسام، بعدما توج للمرة الأولى بلقب «مستر أولمبيا 2026»، متفوقًا على البريطاني سامسون داودا وحامل اللقب السابق الأمريكي ديريك لونسفورد في منافسات لاس فيغاس.
وحسم ووكر، المعروف بلقب «The Mutant»، اللقب بعدما جمع 18 نقطة في النتيجة النهائية، مقابل 20 نقطة لسامسون داودا و24 نقطة لديريك لونسفورد، علمًا بأن نظام التحكيم يعتمد الأقل نقاطًا كأفضل نتيجة.
وجاء التتويج تتويجًا لعودة قوية لووكر، الذي أنهى نسخة 2025 من مستر أولمبيا في المركز السادس، قبل أن يعيد ترتيب أوراقه استعدادًا للموسم الجديد، ويعود إلى المنافسة على أعلى الألقاب في رياضة كمال الأجسام.
وكان ووكر قد أنهى منافسات «Arnold Classic 2026» في المركز الثاني خلف أندرو جاكد، الذي حصد لقب البطولة وجائزتها المالية البالغة 750 ألف دولار، بينما حصل ووكر على المركز الثاني.
وفي يوليو الماضي، واصل ووكر مساره التصاعدي بالفوز بلقب «Tampa Pro»، بعدما تصدر منافسات فئة الرجال المفتوحة، في نتيجة منحته دفعة مهمة قبل خوض أكبر اختبار له في الموسم.
ودخل ووكر بطولة مستر أولمبيا بإعداد مختلف، تحت إشراف مدرب جديد، مع تركيز خاص على تحسين التحكم في منطقة الوسط وتطوير وضعيات العرض الإلزامية، وهي نقاط كانت موضع انتقادات خلال مشاركاته السابقة.
وظهر أثر هذه التغييرات بوضوح منذ مرحلة التقييم الأولي، التي تصدرها ووكر برصيد 8 نقاط، متقدمًا بفارق نقطة واحدة على لونسفورد صاحب 9 نقاط، بينما جاء داودا ثالثًا بـ15 نقطة.
وفي العرض النهائي، نجح داودا في تقديم أداء قوي وتفوق على ووكر في نقاط الجولة النهائية، لكن أفضلية الأخير في التقييم الأولي كانت كافية للحفاظ على صدارة الترتيب وحسم اللقب بفارق نقطتين فقط.
ويمثل فوز ووكر تحولًا كبيرًا في مسيرته، إذ أصبح بعد عام واحد فقط من احتلاله المركز السادس بطلًا لمستر أولمبيا، كما انضم إلى قائمة محدودة من الأبطال الذين توجوا باللقب بعد احتلالهم مركزًا خارج الخمسة الأوائل في النسخة السابقة، وكان روني كولمان قد حقق إنجازًا مشابهًا عندما فاز باللقب عام 1998 بعد احتلاله المركز التاسع في نسخة 1997.
ولم يكتف ووكر بكأس «ساندو»، إذ حصل أيضًا على جائزة «بطل الجماهير» في نسخة 2026، بينما نال داودا المركز الثاني ولونسفورد المركز الثالث. وبلغت جائزة بطل مستر أولمبيا هذا العام 600 ألف دولار.
وبهذا التتويج، يضع ووكر اسمه للمرة الأولى على قائمة أبطال مستر أولمبيا، بعدما كان اللقب بعيدًا عنه خلال مشاركاته السابقة، في واحدة من أبرز التحولات التي شهدتها منافسات الرجال المفتوحة في البطولة هذا العام.
American Nick Walker achieved a remarkable feat in bodybuilding, as he was crowned for the first time with the title of "Mr. Olympia 2026," surpassing British competitor Samson Dauda and previous titleholder American Derek Lunsford in the Las Vegas competitions.
Walker, known by the nickname "The Mutant," secured the title after accumulating 18 points in the final score, compared to 20 points for Samson Dauda and 24 points for Derek Lunsford, noting that the judging system awards the lowest points as the best result.
The crowning marked a strong comeback for Walker, who finished the 2025 edition of Mr. Olympia in sixth place, before reorganizing his strategy in preparation for the new season and returning to compete for the top titles in the sport of bodybuilding.
Walker had finished the "Arnold Classic 2026" in second place behind Andrew Jacked, who won the championship and its cash prize of $750,000, while Walker secured the second position.
In July, Walker continued his upward trajectory by winning the "Tampa Pro" title, after leading the open men's category, a result that provided him with an important boost before facing his biggest test of the season.
Walker entered the Mr. Olympia competition with a different preparation, under the guidance of a new coach, with a special focus on improving control in the midsection and developing mandatory posing, which were points of criticism during his previous participations.
The impact of these changes was evident from the initial evaluation stage, where Walker topped the score with 8 points, one point ahead of Lunsford, who had 9 points, while Dauda came in third with 15 points.
In the final presentation, Dauda managed to deliver a strong performance and outscored Walker in the final round points, but Walker's advantage in the initial evaluation was enough to maintain his lead and secure the title by just two points.
Walker’s victory represents a significant turning point in his career, as he became Mr. Olympia champion just one year after finishing sixth, and he joined a limited list of champions who won the title after placing outside the top five in the previous edition, a feat similar to that of Ronnie Coleman, who won the title in 1998 after finishing ninth in 1997.
Walker did not only settle for the "Sando" trophy, as he also received the "People's Champion" award in the 2026 edition, while Dauda took second place and Lunsford third. This year's Mr. Olympia champion's prize amounted to $600,000.
With this crowning, Walker places his name for the first time on the list of Mr. Olympia champions, after the title had eluded him in his previous participations, marking one of the most significant transformations witnessed in the open men's competitions at this year's championship.
