أرجأت محكمة مستأنف القاهرة الاقتصادية نظر استئناف الإعلامية سماح السعيد على حكم حبسها شهرًا في قضية سب وقذف الفنانة هالة صدقي، وحددت جلسة السابع والعشرين من أكتوبر موعدًا لاستكمال نظر الطعن.
وكانت المحكمة الاقتصادية قد أصدرت حكمًا سابقًا بحبس الفنانة التشكيلية شاليمار شربتلي والإعلامية سماح السعيد لمدة شهر مع الشغل، وإلزامهما بسداد كفالة قدرها عشرون ألف جنيه لكل منهما، إضافة إلى غرامة مماثلة، وذلك في الدعوى التي أقامتها هالة صدقي متهمةً إياهما بتوجيه عبارات مسيئة اعتبرتها سبًّا وقذفًا.
وتضمنت دعوى صدقي اتهامات بالإساءة إليها عبر تصريحات وصفتها بأنها تجاوزت حدود النقد، مطالبة باتخاذ الإجراءات القانونية اللازمة حيال ما ورد من عبارات اعتبرتها ماسّة بسمعتها.
The Cairo Economic Appeals Court has postponed the hearing of media personality Samah Al-Sayed's appeal against her one-month imprisonment sentence in the defamation case brought by artist Hala Sedky, setting the date for the continuation of the appeal for October 27.
The Economic Court had previously issued a ruling sentencing visual artist Shalimar Sherbini and media personality Samah Al-Sayed to one month in prison with hard labor, and ordered them to pay a bail of twenty thousand Egyptian pounds each, in addition to a similar fine, in the lawsuit filed by Hala Sedky, accusing them of making offensive statements that she considered defamatory.
In her lawsuit, Sedky included accusations of defamation through statements that she described as exceeding the limits of criticism, demanding that legal action be taken regarding the phrases she considered damaging to her reputation.
