قدّم أسامة هوساوي استقالته من منصبه مديراً رياضياً مكلفاً في النادي الأهلي، على خلفية عدم رضاه عن الوضع العام داخل منظومة الفريق الأول لكرة القدم، وعدم منحه كامل الصلاحيات المرتبطة بمهامه.
وجاءت خطوة هوساوي بعد فترة قصيرة من تكليفه بالمهمة، إذ اصطدمت مهمته بعدد من الملفات المتعلقة بإدارة شؤون الفريق الأول، في ظل عدم حصوله على الصلاحيات الكاملة التي تمكنه من أداء مهامه واتخاذ القرارات المرتبطة باختصاصاته.
وكان الأهلي قد كلّف هوساوي بإدارة الملف الرياضي بصورة مؤقتة عقب رحيل البرتغالي روي بيدرو، قبل أن يقرر هوساوي تقديم استقالته وعدم الاستمرار في منصبه.
Osama Hawsawi submitted his resignation from his position as the appointed sports director at Al-Ahli Club, due to his dissatisfaction with the overall situation within the first football team and the lack of full authority related to his duties.
Hawsawi's decision came shortly after he was assigned to the role, as his task faced several issues related to managing the affairs of the first team, amid the absence of the full powers that would enable him to perform his duties and make decisions related to his responsibilities.
Al-Ahli had tasked Hawsawi with managing the sports file temporarily following the departure of Portuguese coach Rui Pedro, before Hawsawi decided to resign and not continue in his position.
