حذر رئيس البرلمان العربي محمد بن أحمد اليماحي من تداعيات التصعيد الإسرائيلي المتواصل في المسجد الأقصى والضفة الغربية، مطالبًا بتحرك دولي عاجل لوقف الإجراءات التي قال إنها تستهدف فرض وقائع جديدة في الأراضي الفلسطينية المحتلة.
وأدان اليماحي، في بيان اليوم (الإثنين)، محاولات إدخال كتب الصلاة والطقوس الدينية اليهودية إلى المسجد الأقصى، إلى جانب تشديد القيود والإغلاقات المفروضة على الفلسطينيين في الضفة الغربية، معتبرًا أن هذه الممارسات تهدد الوضع التاريخي والقانوني القائم في المقدسات.
وتزامن ذلك مع تصريحات لوزير المالية الإسرائيلي بتسلئيل سموتريتش دعا فيها إلى شن حرب واسعة في الضفة الغربية وتطبيق ما وصفه بـ«نموذج قطاع غزة»، إلى جانب تفكيك السلطة الفلسطينية. وجاءت تصريحاته في مقابلة مع صحيفة «يديعوت أحرونوت» وسط تعزيزات عسكرية إسرائيلية وإجراءات أمنية مشددة في الضفة.
وقال اليماحي إن تصريحات سموتريتش تمثل، من وجهة نظر البرلمان العربي، دعوة إلى توسيع دائرة التصعيد والدمار وتهديدًا مباشرًا بإشعال الأوضاع في الضفة الغربية، محذرًا من أن تحويلها إلى ساحة مشابهة لقطاع غزة ستكون له تداعيات واسعة على الفلسطينيين والمنطقة.
ويرى اليماحي أن الجمع بين الإجراءات في الأقصى والتضييقات في الضفة والتصريحات الداعية إلى تفكيك السلطة الفلسطينية يعكس مسارًا متزامنًا لفرض وقائع جديدة على الأرض، محذرًا من أن استمرار هذا النهج يقوض مقومات الاستقرار وفرص التسوية السياسية.
وطالب رئيس البرلمان العربي المجتمع الدولي ومجلس الأمن بتحمل مسؤولياتهما والعمل على وقف التصعيد وحماية الشعب الفلسطيني ومقدساته، داعيًا إلى محاسبة المسؤولين عن التحريض والاعتداءات، ومؤكدًا أن استمرار غياب إجراءات رادعة قد يشجع على مزيد من التصعيد.
ويأتي التصعيد في الضفة بالتزامن مع تحركات إسرائيلية مثيرة للجدل داخل المسجد الأقصى. وكانت الأمانة العامة لجامعة الدول العربية قد حذرت من إجراء تجربة لإدخال كتب الصلاة اليهودية «السيدور» إلى المسجد، معتبرة أن السماح بممارسات أو طقوس دينية جديدة يمكن أن يؤدي إلى تغيير الوضع التاريخي والقانوني القائم في المسجد.
The President of the Arab Parliament, Mohammed bin Ahmed Al-Yemahi, warned of the repercussions of the ongoing Israeli escalation in Al-Aqsa Mosque and the West Bank, calling for urgent international action to stop the measures he said aim to impose new realities in the occupied Palestinian territories.
Al-Yemahi condemned, in a statement today (Monday), the attempts to introduce Jewish prayer books and religious rituals into Al-Aqsa Mosque, as well as the tightening of restrictions and closures imposed on Palestinians in the West Bank, considering that these practices threaten the existing historical and legal status at the holy sites.
This coincided with statements from Israeli Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich, who called for a wide-ranging war in the West Bank and the implementation of what he described as the "Gaza model," along with the dismantling of the Palestinian Authority. His remarks came in an interview with the newspaper "Yedioth Ahronoth" amid Israeli military reinforcements and tightened security measures in the West Bank.
Al-Yemahi stated that Smotrich's remarks represent, from the perspective of the Arab Parliament, a call to expand the circle of escalation and destruction and a direct threat to ignite the situation in the West Bank, warning that turning it into a battlefield similar to Gaza would have wide-ranging repercussions on the Palestinians and the region.
Al-Yemahi believes that the combination of measures in Al-Aqsa, the restrictions in the West Bank, and the statements calling for the dismantling of the Palestinian Authority reflects a simultaneous trajectory to impose new realities on the ground, warning that the continuation of this approach undermines the foundations of stability and opportunities for political settlement.
The President of the Arab Parliament called on the international community and the Security Council to assume their responsibilities and work to stop the escalation and protect the Palestinian people and their holy sites, urging accountability for those responsible for incitement and assaults, and emphasizing that the continued absence of deterrent measures could encourage further escalation.
The escalation in the West Bank comes alongside controversial Israeli actions inside Al-Aqsa Mosque. The General Secretariat of the Arab League had warned against conducting a trial to introduce Jewish prayer books, the "Siddur," into the mosque, considering that allowing new religious practices or rituals could lead to a change in the existing historical and legal status of the mosque.
