قدّم مدافع المنتخب التركي لكرة القدم ميريح ديميرال اعتذاره إلى الجماهير التركية عقب النتائج التي حققها المنتخب، مؤكداً أن جميع أفراد الفريق يتحملون المسؤولية كاملة عن الإخفاق، وأن اللاعبين يشعرون بحزن بالغ لما تسببوا به من خيبة أمل لدى الشارع الرياضي في بلادهم.
وقال ديميرال في تصريحات إعلامية: «لا داعي للبحث عن المشكلة، فجميعنا نتحمل المسؤولية»، مضيفاً:«نعتذر من كل شعبنا، والله نحن حزينون جداً لأننا تسببنا في حزن الشعب، وأكرر اعتذاري إلى جميع أبناء الشعب التركي».
وأشار مدافع المنتخب التركي إلى أن اللاعبين قدموا كل ما لديهم داخل أرض الملعب، مؤكداً أنهم خاضوا المنافسات بروح قتالية وبذلوا أقصى ما يستطيعون، إلا أن النتائج جاءت مخالفة لما كانوا يطمحون إليه.
وأوضح ديميرال أن المنتخب سيواصل العمل من أجل تصحيح المسار واستعادة ثقة الجماهير خلال الاستحقاقات القادمة، مشدداً على أن المرحلة الحالية تتطلب تحمل المسؤولية والاستفادة من الدروس المستخلصة، بما يسهم في الظهور بصورة أفضل مستقبلاً.

The Turkish defender pointed out that the players gave their all on the field, confirming that they competed with a fighting spirit and did their utmost, but the results were contrary to what they aspired to.
