The Yemeni National Defense Council praised, during its meeting yesterday (Monday) chaired by the President of the Presidential Leadership Council, Dr. Rashad Muhammad Al-Alimi, the people of Yemen and their widespread support for state institutions, the armed forces, and security, in this pivotal stage of the country's history.

Praise for the Armed Forces' Performance

The council expressed its great pride in the performance of the armed forces, highlighting their efficiency, discipline, and readiness in protecting citizens and vital state facilities. It particularly commended the qualitative operations of the drone forces and their precise and painful strikes against the military capabilities and positions of the Iranian-backed Houthi terrorist militias.

This came during the meeting attended by members of the Presidential Leadership Council, including Sultan Al-Arada, Tariq Saleh, Abdulrahman Al-Mahrimi, Dr. Abdullah Al-Alimi, Othman Majali, Mahmoud Al-Sabihi, and Salem Al-Khanbashi.

Discussion of Field Conditions and Houthi Attacks

The meeting, attended by the Speaker of the House of Representatives Sheikh Sultan Al-Barakani, Prime Minister Dr. Sha'if Al-Zandani, Chairman of the Shura Council Dr. Ahmed Obeid Bin Daghr, Chairman of the Consultation and Reconciliation Authority Muhammad Al-Ghaithi, and the relevant ministers and officials who are members of the National Defense Council, addressed the field conditions and the terrorist attacks carried out by the Houthi militias using ballistic missiles and drones against vital facilities, civilian sites, citizens' homes, and displaced persons' camps, which resulted in the deaths and injuries of many, including women and children.

The National Defense Council praised the high efficiency demonstrated by the armed forces on various fronts and axes, showcasing a commendable model of steadfastness, discipline, and readiness, as well as their ability to absorb the attacks of the Houthi terrorist militias, thwart their destructive plans, and inflict painful losses on their personnel and equipment.

Praise for Forces in Marib and the Western Coast

The council specifically noted the performance and heroic feats of the armed forces in the Marib fronts and the western coast of Taiz Governorate, highlighting their vigilance and capability in deterring Houthi escalation and protecting citizens and vital sites and facilities.

It affirmed that the targeting of displaced persons' camps, civilian sites, and economic facilities by the militias would not yield any gains on the ground for them, nor would it diminish the resolve of the armed forces and their strong will to end the coup.

Call to Protect Children from Recruitment Campaigns

In this context, the National Defense Council praised the growing awareness among tribal members and social figures, and their responsible stances in rejecting the calls for mobilization and recruitment issued by the Houthi militias.

It called on sheikhs, dignitaries, and parents to protect their children from recruitment campaigns and not to involve them in futile battles and death traps that do not serve the interests and national priorities of the Yemeni people.

Appreciation for the Crisis Management Committee's Efforts

The National Defense Council also commended the efforts of the Crisis Management Committee, chaired by the Prime Minister, and what its governmental team has accomplished in terms of plans and measures to ensure the readiness of state institutions and their ability to protect citizens and maintain the continuity of essential services under various circumstances.

The council directed the government, local authorities, and relevant entities to quickly assess and address the damages caused by the Houthi terrorist attacks, rehabilitate the damaged public and service facilities, as well as provide necessary medical care for the injured and support the families of the martyrs who fell due to these attacks in various governorates, and take measures to mitigate their humanitarian and economic impacts on citizens.

Raising Readiness and Enhancing Protection

The National Defense Council emphasized the need to maintain military and security readiness at the highest levels across various fronts and axes, enhance the early warning system, and increase the protection of vital and sovereign facilities and civilian sites.

It also ordered the expansion of air and missile deterrence operations against sources of threat, in coordination among different fronts and military formations, and to intensify intelligence and security work to pursue cells and networks of smuggling, supply, and internal support for the militias, linking these efforts to a rapid and effective judicial process, thereby enhancing the integration of the state's military, security, and legal tools in confronting terrorist threats.

Appreciation for Saudi Arabia's Role

The council reiterated its high appreciation for the pioneering role of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and its steadfast support for the Yemeni people and their political leadership at all levels, in addition to its leadership role in enhancing the security and stability of Yemen and the region, and leading regional and international coalition efforts to confront sources of threat and terrorism, and to protect maritime security and international waterways.

Call for More Effective International Measures

Additionally, the National Defense Council praised the unity of the international community and its clear positions in holding the Houthi militias accountable for the escalation and threats to Yemen's security, the region, and maritime routes, emphasizing the importance of translating these positions into more effective measures to deter the militias and dry up their funding and armament sources.
