كشف رئيس الاتحاد المصري لكرة القدم، هاني أبو ريدة، حقيقة التفكير في إلغاء مسابقة الدوري الممتاز هذا الموسم، من أجل توفير وقت كافٍ لتجهيز المنتخب الأول لبطولة كأس العالم 2026.
لا نية لإلغاء المسابقة
وأوضح أبو ريدة، في تصريحات نشرها موقع الاتحاد المصري لكرة القدم، أنه لا توجد أي نية لإلغاء بطولة الدوري الممتاز، كما تردد خلال الأيام الماضية.
مؤتمر صحفي للإعلان عن الخطة
وأشار إلى أن الاتحاد المصري يعتزم تنظيم مؤتمر صحفي الأسبوع القادم، يعلن خلاله الخطة الكاملة استعداداً للبطولة، التي سيخوضها «الفراعنة» ضمن المجموعة السابعة، إلى جانب بلجيكا ونيوزيلندا وإيران.
مشاركة في ورشة عمل الفيفا
وأضاف أن وفداً من الاتحاد المصري سيسافر إلى الولايات المتحدة في الثالث من مارس، لحضور ورشة عمل ينظمها الاتحاد الدولي لكرة القدم، استعداداً للبطولة.
نسخة تاريخية من المونديال
وستقام النسخة القادمة من بطولة كأس العالم في الولايات المتحدة الأمريكية وكندا والمكسيك، خلال يونيو ويوليو من هذا العام، لتكون الأولى في تاريخ البطولة التي تشهد مشاركة 48 منتخباً بدلاً من 32.
The President of the Egyptian Football Association, Hani Abu Rida, revealed the truth about the consideration of canceling the Premier League competition this season, in order to provide enough time to prepare the national team for the 2026 World Cup.
No intention to cancel the competition
Abu Rida clarified, in statements published by the Egyptian Football Association's website, that there is no intention to cancel the Premier League championship, as has been rumored in recent days.
Press conference to announce the plan
He indicated that the Egyptian Association intends to organize a press conference next week, during which the complete plan for the tournament will be announced, in which the "Pharaohs" will participate in Group Seven, alongside Belgium, New Zealand, and Iran.
Participation in FIFA workshop
He added that a delegation from the Egyptian Association will travel to the United States on March 3, to attend a workshop organized by the International Football Federation, in preparation for the tournament.
A historic edition of the World Cup
The upcoming edition of the World Cup will be held in the United States, Canada, and Mexico, during June and July of this year, marking the first time in the tournament's history that 48 teams will participate instead of 32.
