تكبّد فريق مانشستر سيتي الهزيمة الثانية على التوالي في الدوري الإنجليزي «بريميرليغ»، أمام ضيفه برايتون بهدف دون رد، في المباراة التي جمعتهما اليوم (السبت) على ملعب «الاتحاد»، ضمن منافسات الجولة التاسعة.
وكان مانشستر سيتي بقيادة مدربه إنزو ماريسكا قد تلقى خسارته الأولى هذا الموسم أمام أستون فيلا بنتيجة 2-1 في الجولة الماضية، قبل أن يواصل سقوطه أمام برايتون.
عياري يسجل هدف الفوز
جاء هدف برايتون في الدقيقة 11، بعد تمريرة من ماكسيم دي كويبر إلى زميله ياسين عياري داخل منطقة الجزاء، قابلها الأخير بتسديدةٍ سكنت شباك مانشستر سيتي.
الصدارة في خطر
بهذه النتيجة، تجمد رصيد مانشستر سيتي عند 21 نقطة في صدارة البريميرليغ، متفوقاً بفارق الأهداف على أرسنال صاحب المركز الثاني، الذي سيلتقي ليفربول غداً (الأحد)، ضمن منافسات الجولة ذاتها.
في المقابل، رفع برايتون رصيده إلى 19 نقطة، بعدما حقق ستة انتصارات وتعادلاً واحداً مقابل هزيمتين، ليشعل الصراع على صدارة البريميرليغ.
Manchester City suffered their second consecutive defeat in the English Premier League, losing to their guest Brighton by a score of one goal to nil, in the match that took place today (Saturday) at the "Etihad" Stadium, as part of the ninth round of the competition.
Manchester City, led by their coach Enzo Maresca, had previously faced their first loss of the season against Aston Villa with a score of 2-1 in the last round, before continuing their downfall against Brighton.
Ayari Scores the Winning Goal
The goal for Brighton came in the 11th minute, following a pass from Maxim De Cuyper to his teammate Yassine Ayari inside the penalty area, which the latter converted with a shot that found the back of Manchester City's net.
Top Spot at Risk
With this result, Manchester City's points total remains at 21 at the top of the Premier League, ahead of second-placed Arsenal on goal difference, who will face Liverpool tomorrow (Sunday), in the same round of competition.
On the other hand, Brighton increased their points total to 19, having achieved six victories, one draw, and two defeats, igniting the battle for the Premier League's top spot.
