أكد جوسيب ماريا أوروبيتج، وكيل أعمال مدرب مانشستر سيتي السابق بيب غوارديولا، أن موكله رفض تدريب الأهلي خلفاً للألماني ماتياس يايسله.
وعقب مفاضلة ومفاوضات مع عدد من المرشحين، تعاقد الأهلي الأسبوع الماضي مع الهولندي مارينو بوسيتش لخلافة يايسله، الذي رحل لتدريب نيوكاسل الإنجليزي.
غوارديولا يؤجل العودة إلى التدريب
وقال أوروبيتج في تصريح خاص لـ«عكاظ»: «الأهلي فاوضنا لتولي غوارديولا تدريب الفريق، لكن بيب لا يريد العودة للتدريب خلال العام الجاري».
يذكر أن غوارديولا رفض عرضاً لتدريب منتخب إيطاليا، الشهر الماضي، قبل أن يستقر الاتحاد الإيطالي على عودة روبرتو مانشيني.
مسيرة أسطورية مع السيتي
ورحل غوارديولا عن مانشستر سيتي في مايو الماضي، بعد 10 مواسم على رأس القيادة الفنية لمانشستر سيتي، حقق خلالها 20 لقباً، وكان أبرز إنجازاته قيادة الفريق للتتويج بلقب دوري أبطال أوروبا عام 2023 للمرة الأولى في تاريخ النادي، إضافة إلى حصد لقب الدوري الإنجليزي الممتاز 6 مرات.
Josep Maria Orobitg, the agent of former Manchester City coach Pep Guardiola, confirmed that his client rejected the opportunity to coach Al Ahly following the departure of German Matthias Jaissle.
After deliberation and negotiations with several candidates, Al Ahly signed Dutchman Marino Pusic last week to succeed Jaissle, who left to coach Newcastle United.
Guardiola Delays Return to Coaching
Orobitg stated in a special interview with "Okaz": "Al Ahly approached us to have Guardiola coach the team, but Pep does not want to return to coaching this year."
It is worth noting that Guardiola rejected an offer to coach the Italian national team last month, before the Italian Football Federation settled on the return of Roberto Mancini.
Legendary Career with City
Guardiola left Manchester City in May after 10 seasons at the helm, during which he won 20 titles, with his most notable achievement being leading the team to win the UEFA Champions League title in 2023 for the first time in the club's history, in addition to winning the Premier League title 6 times.
