أثار الاتحاد الدولي لكرة القدم (فيفا) جدلاً واسعاً في الساعات الأخيرة، بعد نشره غلافاً ترويجياً لبطولة كأس العالم 2026 على منصاته في مواقع التواصل الاجتماعي، حيث تجاهل بشكل لافت قائد المنتخب البرتغالي كريستيانو رونالدو.
وتصدر قائد المنتخب الأرجنتيني ليونيل ميسي الغلاف، إلى جانب وجود نجم المنتخب السعودي سالم الدوسري، إلا أن استبعاد رونالدو أثار موجة من الغضب بين الجماهير على منصات التواصل الاجتماعي.
لكن «فيفا» سرعان ما تدارك الموقف، حيث قام بحذف الغلاف الترويجي، واستبدله بغلاف آخر يضم أبرز النجوم الذين شاركوا في مونديال 2026، بما في ذلك كريستيانو رونالدو، وعلق: «لحظات خالدة في أذهاننا».
نسخة تاريخية من المونديال
وستقام النسخة القادمة من كأس العالم في الولايات المتحدة الأمريكية وكندا والمكسيك، وستشهد مشاركة 48 منتخباً لأول مرة في تاريخ البطولة.
وكان المنتخب السعودي قد حجز مقعده في المونديال في وقت سابق من الشهر الماضي، ليحقق بذلك مشاركته السابعة في كأس العالم والثالثة على التوالي.
وفي إنجاز غير مسبوق، تأهلت 7 منتخبات عربية إلى كأس العالم 2026، هي: السعودية، قطر، الأردن، مصر، المغرب، تونس، والجزائر، لتحقق بذلك حضوراً تاريخياً في البطولة، متفوقة على الرقم القياسي الذي تحقق في مونديال 2022 بمشاركة 4 منتخبات عربية.
The International Football Federation (FIFA) has sparked widespread controversy in recent hours after publishing a promotional cover for the 2026 World Cup on its social media platforms, notably ignoring the captain of the Portuguese national team, Cristiano Ronaldo.
The cover featured the captain of the Argentine national team, Lionel Messi, alongside Saudi national team star Salem Al-Dawsari, but Ronaldo's exclusion triggered a wave of anger among fans on social media platforms.
However, FIFA quickly rectified the situation by removing the promotional cover and replacing it with another cover that includes the prominent stars who participated in the 2026 World Cup, including Cristiano Ronaldo, and commented: "Timeless moments in our minds."
A Historic Edition of the World Cup
The upcoming edition of the World Cup will be held in the United States, Canada, and Mexico, and will feature 48 teams for the first time in the tournament's history.
The Saudi national team had secured its place in the World Cup earlier last month, marking its seventh participation in the World Cup and its third consecutive appearance.
In an unprecedented achievement, 7 Arab teams qualified for the 2026 World Cup: Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Jordan, Egypt, Morocco, Tunisia, and Algeria, thus achieving a historic presence in the tournament, surpassing the previous record set in the 2022 World Cup with the participation of 4 Arab teams.
