في الوقت الذي أعلن فيه الاتحاد الأوروبي لكرة القدم «اليويفا» موافقته على إقامة لقاء برشلونة وفياريال في الدوري الإسباني بمدينة ميامي الأمريكية في أواخر شهر ديسمبر.. أصدرت رابطة الدوري الإسباني قراراً جديداً أربك حسابات الفريقين.
فقد أعلنت رابطة الدوري الإسباني لكرة القدم إلغاء إقامة المباراة المقررة بين برشلونة وفياريال في الدوري بميامي بعد أن قرر منظم المباراة سحب الاقتراح وسط انتقادات عنيفة داخل إسبانيا.
وكان من المقرر أن تقام على استاد هارد روك في 20 ديسمبر القادم أول مباراة في دوري الدرجة الأولى الإسباني خارج إسبانيا وأول مباراة من دوري أوروبي تقام في الخارج، ولكن رابطة الدوري الإسباني ألغت إقامة اللقاء في أمريكا.
وذكرت في بيان لها «قررت الرابطة بعد مناقشات مع الجهة المنظمة لمباراة الدوري الرسمية في ميامي، إلغاء المباراة بسبب حالة عدم اليقين التي سادت إسبانيا خلال الأسابيع الأخيرة، وتعرب الرابطة عن أسفها العميق لعدم تمكن هذا المشروع، الذي مثّل فرصة تاريخية لا مثيل لها لإضفاء طابع دولي على كرة القدم الإسبانية، من المضي قدما كان تنظيم مباراة رسمية خارج حدودنا سيُشكّل خطوة حاسمة في التوسع العالمي لمسابقتنا».
وأكدت رابطة الدوري، التي كانت تستعد لبدء بيع تذاكر المباراة اليوم الأربعاء، أن المبادرة تتماشى مع جميع اللوائح ولن تؤثر على عدالة المنافسة.
وأوضحت الرابطة أنه «في ظل التنافسية العالمية المتزايدة، حيث تواصل مسابقات دوري مثل الدوري الإنجليزي الممتاز ودوري أبطال أوروبا توسيع نطاقها وقدرتها على تعزيز الموارد، فإن مبادرات كهذه ضرورية لضمان استدامة ونمو كرة القدم الإسبانية».
وأضافت «التخلي عن مثل هذه الفرص يعيق توفير إيرادات جديدة، ويحد من قدرة الأندية على الاستثمار والمنافسة، ويقلل من المكانة الدولية لمنظومة كرة القدم الوطنية بأكملها».
وسبق أن أعلن الاتحاد الأوروبي للعبة (ويفا) رغم مُعارضته لنقل مباريات الدوري لرابطتي الدوري الإسباني والدوري الإيطالي بإقامة مباراتي فياريال ضد برشلونة في ميامي، وميلان ضد كومو في أستراليا، متسببا في معارضة العديد من الأندية ومجموعات المشجعين في جميع أنحاء أوروبا.
من جهة أخرى، أصدر نادي برشلونة بياناً عبر موقعه الرسمي في الشبكة العنكبوتية أبدى من خلاله عن أسفه على قرار الإلغاء حيث قال في البيان: «يحترم نادي برشلونة قرار إلغاء مباراة الجولة 17 من الليغا ضد فياريال في ميامي، ويعرب عن أسفه لإهدار فرصة توسيع حضور المسابقة في سوق إستراتيجي غني بإمكانات النمو وتوليد الموارد لصالح الجميع، ويشكر جماهيره بالولايات المتحدة على دعمهم اللا مشروط، مبدياً أسفه لحرمانهم من هذه المباراة».
At the same time that the European football governing body "UEFA" announced its approval for the match between Barcelona and Villarreal to be held in Miami, USA, in late December, the Spanish Football League issued a new decision that disrupted the plans of both teams.
The Spanish Football League announced the cancellation of the match scheduled between Barcelona and Villarreal in Miami after the match organizer decided to withdraw the proposal amid fierce criticism within Spain.
The match was supposed to take place at Hard Rock Stadium on December 20, marking the first match in the Spanish Primera Division outside of Spain and the first European league match to be held abroad, but the Spanish League canceled the event in America.
In a statement, it mentioned, "The league decided after discussions with the organizer of the official league match in Miami to cancel the match due to the uncertainty that has prevailed in Spain in recent weeks. The league expresses its deep regret that this project, which represented a unique historical opportunity to internationalize Spanish football, could not move forward. Organizing an official match outside our borders would have been a crucial step in the global expansion of our competition."
The league confirmed that it was preparing to start selling tickets for the match today, Wednesday, and that the initiative complies with all regulations and would not affect competitive fairness.
The league clarified that "in light of the increasing global competitiveness, where leagues like the Premier League and the Champions League continue to expand their reach and ability to enhance resources, initiatives like this are essential to ensure the sustainability and growth of Spanish football."
It added, "Abandoning such opportunities hinders the generation of new revenues, limits clubs' ability to invest and compete, and diminishes the international standing of the entire national football system."
Previously, UEFA had announced, despite its opposition to the transfer of league matches to the Spanish and Italian leagues, the organization of the matches Villarreal against Barcelona in Miami and Milan against Como in Australia, causing opposition from many clubs and fan groups across Europe.
On the other hand, FC Barcelona issued a statement via its official website expressing its regret over the cancellation decision, stating: "FC Barcelona respects the decision to cancel the match of round 17 of La Liga against Villarreal in Miami, and expresses its regret for missing the opportunity to expand the competition's presence in a strategically rich market with growth potential and resource generation for everyone's benefit. It thanks its fans in the United States for their unconditional support, expressing regret for depriving them of this match."
