حقق منتخب المغرب إنجازاً عربياً تاريخياً بوصوله لنهائي كأس العالم تحت 20 سنة، بعد فوزه على منتخب فرنسا بركلات الترجيح 5/ 4 (1/ 1 الأشواط الأصلية والإضافية) في اللقاء الذي جمع بينهما على ملعب إلياس فيغيروا براندر في نصف نهائي المونديال المقام في تشيلي.
شهد اللقاء تقدم منتخب المغرب بالنتيجة أولاً من ركلة جزاء نفذها بنجاح لاعبه ياسر الزابيري (د:32)، وفي الشوط الثاني أدرك منتخب فرنسا التعادل عن طريق لوكاس ميشال (د:59)، وحصل لاعب فرنسا رابي نزينغولا على البطاقة الحمراء بعد تلقيه البطاقة الصفراء الثانية في الدقيقة 116 من عمر اللقاء.
وشهد اللقاء حالة نادرة إذ شارك حراس مرمى المنتخب المغربي الثلاثة، فقد بدأ اللقاء الحارس الأساسي يانيس بن شاوش الذي خرج مصاباً، وشارك بدلاً عنه إبراهيم غوميز (د:58)، ومن ثم خرج غوميز ليشارك الحارس حكيم مصباحي في الوقت بدل الضائع من الشوط الثاني الإضافي، وتألق في ركلات الترجيح، وصد الركلة الحاسمة من الفرنسي دجيليان نجيسان لينتصر منتخب المغرب بنتيجة 5/ 4.
وبهذه النتيجة يتأهل المنتخب المغربي إلى نهائي كأس العالم تحت 20 سنة المقامة حالياً في دولة تشيلي، وسيلاقي الفائز من مباراة الأرجنتين وكولومبيا على النهائي المنتظر، عند تمام الثانية من فجر الإثنين القادم.

The Moroccan national team achieved a historic Arab accomplishment by reaching the final of the Under-20 World Cup, after defeating the French team in a penalty shootout 5/4 (1/1 in regular and extra time) in the match held at the Elías Figueroa Brander Stadium in the semifinals of the tournament taking place in Chile.
The match saw the Moroccan team take the lead first with a penalty successfully executed by their player Yasser Zbeiri (32nd minute). In the second half, the French team equalized through Lucas Michal (59th minute), and French player Rabi Nzingoula received a red card after getting a second yellow card in the 116th minute of the match.
The match featured a rare occurrence as all three goalkeepers of the Moroccan team participated; the match began with the starting goalkeeper Yanis Ben Chaouch, who left due to injury, and was replaced by Ibrahim Gomez (58th minute). Gomez then left to allow goalkeeper Hakim Msbahi to join in stoppage time of the second extra half, where he shone in the penalty shootout, saving the decisive penalty from French player Djilian Ngissan, leading the Moroccan team to victory with a score of 5/4.
With this result, the Moroccan team qualifies for the final of the Under-20 World Cup currently taking place in Chile, and will face the winner of the match between Argentina and Colombia in the anticipated final, scheduled for 2 AM next Monday.
