انتصر فريق مانشستر سيتي الإنجليزي على ضيفه نابولي الإيطالي بهدفين دون مقابل، في اللقاء الذي جمع بينهما على استاد الاتحاد، ضمن لقاءات الجولة الأولى لدوري أبطال أوروبا.
وسجل هدفي السيتي كل من: إيرلينج هالاند (د: 56) وجيريمي دوكو (د: 65)، بعد أن أكمل نابولي اللقاء ناقصاً لاعباً بعد طرد قائده جيوفاني دي لورينزو (د: 21).
وشهد اللقاء سيطرة مبكرة لأصحاب الأرض والجمهور، وسدد تيجاني رايندرز كرة قوية أبعدها الحارس ميلينكوفيتش سافيتش إلى ركلة زاوية، وانفرد إيرلينج هالاند بمرمى نابولي ولكنه تعرض للإعاقة من جيوفاني دي لورينزو، وبعد العودة لتقنية الفيديو منحه الحكم البطاقة الحمراء ليكمل نابولي اللقاء بعشرة لاعبين.
ومع هذا الطرد اضطر مدرب نابولي كونتي للتضحية بالنجم البلجيكي كيفين دي بروين، ليقرر إخراجه لتعزيز الدفاع، وذلك في الدقيقة 25 ليقف جمهور مانشستر سيتي ويصفق بحرارة لاسطورتهم السابقة والذي قضى 10 سنوات معهم.
وواصل مانشستر سيتي ضغطه إلى أن تمكن من إحراز الهدف الأول بعد أن مرر رودري كرة قصيرة إلى فودين أمام منطقة الجزاء، ليلعبها بدوره عرضية لإيرلينج هالاند الذي حولها برأسه من فوق الحارس سيرجي ميلينكوفيتش لتسكن الشباك كهدف أول للسيتي (د: 56).
وبعدها بـ 9 دقائق فقط ضاعف مانشستر سيتي النتيجة عن طريق جيريمي دوكو، بعد أن استلم الكرة على حدود منطقة الجزاء وراوغ بيوكاما وسددها أرضية قوية مرت بين أقدام الحارس وسكنت الشباك كهدف ثانٍ للسيتي (د: 65)، لينتهي اللقاء بفوز السيتي بهدفين دون مقابل.
