في مشهد استثنائي شهدته بطولة كأس العالم للأندية الجارية حالياً في الولايات المتحدة الأمريكية، خطف اللاعب تشو تونغ، مدافع أوكلاند سيتي النيوزيلندي، الأضواء خلال مواجهة فريقه أمام بنفيكا البرتغالي، بعد اعتراضه الصاخب على قرار الجهاز الطبي باستبداله إثر تعرضه لإصابة في الرأس.
وكانت الحادثة قد وقعت خلال الشوط الأول من اللقاء، عندما تعرض تشو تونغ لضربة قوية على مستوى الرأس، ما استدعى تدخلاً سريعاً من الطاقم الطبي. وبعد تقييم أولي للحالة، قرر الجهاز الطبي سحب اللاعب من المباراة كإجراء احترازي يتماشى مع بروتوكولات السلامة المعتمدة في مثل هذه الإصابات.

يُذكر أن بداية الشوط الثاني من المباراة تأخرت بسبب الظروف الجوية السيئة، إثر هطول أمطار غزيرة على أرضية الملعب.
وانتهت المواجهة بفوز كاسح لبنفيكا بنتيجة 6-0، في إطار الجولة الثانية من دور المجموعات للبطولة العالمية.

It is worth mentioning that the start of the second half of the match was delayed due to poor weather conditions, following heavy rainfall on the pitch.
The match ended with a crushing victory for Benfica, with a score of 6-0, in the second round of the group stage of the global tournament.
