يستعد نجم المنتخب السعودي ونادي القادسية اللاعب الشاب محمد أبو الشامات (23 عامًا)، لخوض منافسات كأس العالم 2026 للمرة الأولى في تاريخه، بعد اختياره من قبل مدرب المنتخب، اليوناني جورجيوس دونيس.
قدم أبو الشامات أداءً استثنائياً مع فريقه القادسية خلال الموسم المنصرم، وساهم في وصول فريقه للمركز الرابع في سلم ترتيب دوري روشن السعودي برصيد 77 نقطة، والمشاركة في دوري أبطال آسيا للنخبة. وشارك أبو الشامات الذي يمتاز باللعب في مركز الظهير الأيمن خلال الموسم ذاته في 34 مباراة سجل خلالها ثلاثة أهداف وصنع 8 لزملائه، بواقع 2714 دقيقة لعب، ليفرض نفسه بين نجوم كرة القدم السعودية كأحد أبرز المواهب الشابة القادمة بقوة في الدوري السعودي.
بدأ محمد أبو الشامات مسيرته الرياضية عن طريق أكاديمية النادي الأهلي، ثم انتقل إلى القادسية وتحديداً الفئات السنية حتى وصل للفريق الأول لكرة القدم مع شقيقه صالح أبو الشامات في عهد الرئيس السابق معدي الهاجري، وبإشراف مباشر من قبل مدير الفئات السنية آنذاك محمد النهدي.
وكان القادسية قد أعلن الخميس الماضي تجديد عقده محمد أبو الشامات حتى 2031، ليقطع القادسية الطريق على الأندية التي تطلب ودّ اللاعب.

Abu Al-Shamat delivered an exceptional performance with his team Al-Qadisiyah during the past season, contributing to his team's fourth place in the Roshen Saudi League standings with 77 points, and participating in the elite AFC Champions League. Abu Al-Shamat, who excels in playing as a right-back, participated in 34 matches during the same season, scoring three goals and assisting eight for his teammates, with a total of 2714 minutes played, establishing himself among the stars of Saudi football as one of the most prominent young talents emerging strongly in the Saudi league.
Mohamed Abu Al-Shamat began his sports career through the Al-Ahli club academy, then moved to Al-Qadisiyah, specifically in the youth categories, until he reached the first team alongside his brother Saleh Abu Al-Shamat during the presidency of the former president Maadi Al-Hajri, under the direct supervision of the youth categories manager at that time, Mohamed Al-Nahdi.
Al-Qadisiyah announced last Thursday the renewal of Mohamed Abu Al-Shamat's contract until 2031, cutting off the path for clubs seeking the player's services.
