أكد النجم الجزائري رياض محرز، لاعب الأهلي، أن بطولة كأس العالم 2026 ستكون الأخيرة له مع منتخب بلاده.
وسجل محرز هدفاً في فوز الجزائر على الصومال بثلاثية نظيفة، أمس (الخميس)، مسهماً بذلك في تأهل الخُضر إلى المونديال للمرة الخامسة في تاريخه.
وقال محرز في تصريحات نشرها موقع «النهار» الجزائري: «هذا سيكون آخر مونديال لي.. أنا لستُ رونالدو».
وأضاف لاعب الأهلي البالغ من العمر 34 عاماً: «هذه المشاركة في كأس العالم ستكون خاصة بالنسبة لي، وسأبذل كل ما في وسعي لتمثيل الجزائر بأفضل صورة ممكنة. أنا فخور جداً ببلدي وبما أنجزناه جميعاً».
صدارة جزائرية
ورفع المنتخب الجزائري رصيده إلى 22 نقطة في صدارة المجموعة السابعة بتصفيات المونديال، بفارق لا يُمكن تعويضه قبل جولة واحدة من نهاية التصفيات، عن أقرب منافسيه منتخب أوغندا الذي يملك 18 نقطة.
وبحسب نظام التصفيات الأفريقية، يتأهل متصدر كل مجموعة مباشرة إلى نهائيات كأس العالم 2026، في حين تخوض أفضل أربعة منتخبات تحتل المركز الثاني ملحقاً إفريقياً، يتأهل منه منتخب واحد إلى الملحق العالمي.
The Algerian star Riyad Mahrez, a player for Al Ahly, confirmed that the 2026 World Cup will be his last with his national team.
Mahrez scored a goal in Algeria's 3-0 victory over Somalia yesterday (Thursday), contributing to the Greens' qualification for the World Cup for the fifth time in their history.
Mahrez said in statements published by the Algerian website "An-Nahar": "This will be my last World Cup... I am not Ronaldo."
The 34-year-old Al Ahly player added: "This participation in the World Cup will be special for me, and I will do everything I can to represent Algeria in the best possible way. I am very proud of my country and what we have all achieved."
Algerian Leadership
The Algerian national team raised its points total to 22 at the top of Group 7 in the World Cup qualifiers, with an unassailable lead before the final round of qualifiers, ahead of its nearest competitor, Uganda, which has 18 points.
According to the African qualifying system, the leader of each group qualifies directly for the 2026 World Cup finals, while the best four teams that finish in second place will enter an African playoff, from which one team will qualify for the global playoff.
