Military sources in Yemen revealed to "Okaz" that the vanguard of the Yemeni army arrived today (Monday) at the outskirts of the districts of Al-Mokha and Al-Wazi'ah, while the Houthi militia is currently being besieged as they fled to the Fire Mountains and the Khalid bin Al-Walid camp.
The sources indicated that the army is standing 5 kilometers away from the city of Al-Mokha, after surrounding it from several directions, while other forces are heading towards the Al-Wazi'ah district to liberate it, confirming the capture of hundreds of Houthi militants, some of whom resorted to the sea before surrendering to save their lives.
The sources stated that the losses of the Houthi militia reached hundreds, noting the seizure of weapons, equipment, military vehicles, and armored vehicles in large numbers.
For his part, the commander of the 33rd Giants Brigade, Brigadier Abu Mohsen Al-Dawoodi Al-Yafai, said in press statements, "Our forces are surrounding the city of Al-Mokha and imposing a comprehensive siege at this moment on the exits and entrances of the city, and we are striving to secure the civilians, and then storm the militia positions and liberate them in the coming hours."
He pointed out that the forces are currently operating according to a well-studied plan, which gives the highest priority to securing civilians and ensuring their safety within the city.
In Taiz Governorate, eyewitnesses reported that the Houthi militia was seen fleeing from several villages, following the successes achieved on the western coast, while the forces continue their advance after cutting off the militia's supply lines and besieging them in several villages south of the governorate and clearing the road linking Taiz and Aden.
In Marib Governorate, east of Yemen, field sources stated that the armed forces have made new progress on the southern front, managing to control the Al-Falijah and Qurn Al-Bour positions after clashes with the Houthi militia.
