The World Health Organization confirmed the death of 838 people and the injury of 3,643 others due to the escalation in Yemen between August 6 and September 26, while the Houthi militia continues to involve underage children in combat under the threat of weapons, amid reports of intensified forced recruitment operations.
Yemeni activists reported that the two underage boys, Muhammad Ali Al-Qahtani and Abdul Karim Al-Muayyad, were found lost in the mountains of Al-Kadha after having fought alongside the Houthi militia.
The activists explained that the locals found the boys in a state of exhaustion and severe hunger after spending several days in the mountains without food or drink, while the tribes provided them with care and food and reassured them.
Tribal sources stated that the boys initially refused to disclose their connection to the militia for fear of being eliminated, after the militia informed them that surrendering would expose them to being killed. The sources added that after reassuring them, the boys admitted that they had fled from the militia's ranks after running out of ammunition, confirming that they had been deceived and taken by force.
The sources mentioned that the boys are currently in the home of a tribal leader in the countryside of Taiz, being protected until arrangements are made for their return to their families.
Military sources reported that the militia is sending dozens of children to the front lines daily in an attempt to achieve a breakthrough, questioning why some families agree to hand over their children to the militia and involve them in combat.
In Sana'a, reliable sources indicated that the militia is facing increasing depletion, losing, according to circulating information, between 100 and 150 fighters daily, noting that their supervisors have received directives to forcibly recruit more children, even through abducting them from their families.
Yemeni medical sources revealed that dozens of dead and wounded have arrived at hospitals in the Ibb governorate and the Al-Huban area east of Taiz in recent hours, indicating that Al-Thawra Hospital received more than 50 dead and wounded.
The sources reported that Al-Qaidah General Hospital and other hospitals in the city of Al-Qaidah received more than 100 dead and wounded, most of whom were from the Maferq Mawiyah camp east of Taiz.
