The retired Egyptian artist Shams Al-Baroudi sparked widespread interaction and a wave of controversy across social media platforms after she broke the norm with an unexpected post, in which she claimed that she lived another life in parallel worlds before her current existence, citing the ideas of the late thinker Mustafa Mahmoud.
Her followers were used to seeing the former star reminiscing about her peaceful memories with her late husband Hassan Youssef and her son Abdullah, or talking about the atmosphere of worship and simple spirituality. However, she surprised everyone this time by writing a post on her "Facebook" account, confidently asserting that she had previous experiences in other worlds, supported by personal evidence that she would reveal details about later. She opened the door for her audience to share their similar experiences, considering that humans are nothing but small particles in a vast world that she described as a "lie" whose truths will be revealed one day, a proposition that sparked intellectual division and faced sharp criticism for conflicting with prevailing scientific and philosophical beliefs.
Amid the raging controversy, the artist Shahira rushed to defend her lifelong friend, denouncing the attacks and offensive comments directed at Shams Al-Baroudi, and affirming that individuals' privacy and their intellectual and personal freedoms are a red line that others should not intrude upon or publicly judge.
However, this strange statement puts the retired cinema star back in the spotlight, amid anticipation of what she might publish in the coming days regarding her claims about those "other worlds."
