يتوجه رئيس الوزراء وزير الخارجية القطري، الشيخ محمد بن عبدالرحمن آل ثاني، اليوم (الخميس)، إلى طهران، لبحث سبل خفض التصعيد وتهيئة الظروف الملائمة للحوار مع المسؤولين الإيرانيين.
وعزا المتحدث باسم وزارة الخارجية القطرية، الدكتور ماجد الأنصاري، أهمية الزيارة إلى أنها تأتي انطلاقاً من موقف قطر الثابت بأن المسار الدبلوماسي هو السبيل الأمثل لحل الخلافات وتعزيز الأمن والاستقرار في المنطقة، وذلك في تدوينات على حسابه في «إكس».
ومن المتوقع أن تتناول المحادثات حرية الملاحة في مضيق هرمز، وضرورة عودتها إلى ما كانت عليه قبل 28 فبراير، والمسارات المقترحة بين سلطنة عمان وإيران.
في المقابل، أكد المتحدث باسم الخارجية الإيرانية، إسماعيل بقائي، للصحفيين أن زيارة الشيخ محمد بن عبدالرحمن آل ثاني إلى طهران تأتي في إطار المشاورات المستمرة بين إيران وقطر لتوسيع العلاقات الثنائية وتعزيز السلام والأمن في المنطقة.
وأشاد بقائي بـ«المساعي الحميدة التي بذلتها قطر خلال الأشهر الأخيرة للمساعدة في منع تصاعد التوتر في المنطقة»، مؤكداً أن رئيس الوزراء القطري سيبحث ويتبادل وجهات النظر، خلال لقائه مع المسؤولين الإيرانيين، بشأن مواصلة جهود ومبادرات الوساطة القطرية وسائر التطورات في المنطقة.
بدوره، قال الرئيس الإيراني مسعود بزشكيان إن نهج بلاده قائم على التفاهم وحل القضايا عبر المفاوضات، مهدداً بمواصلة الوقوف بحزم في مواجهة الضغوط الاقتصادية.
وشدد بزشكيان على ضرورة إجراء محادثات صريحة وتوضيح مختلف القضايا الاقتصادية للشعب بشفافية.
في غضون ذلك، قال وزير الطاقة الأمريكي كريس رايت: «هدفنا ألا تمتلك إيران أسلحة نووية، وذلك من خلال المفاوضات والتفتيش أو استخدام القوة»، موضحاً أن بلاده ترغب في إنهاء برنامج إيران النووي عبر المفاوضات وعمليات تفتيش الوكالة الدولية للطاقة الذرية.
وأضاف: «لا يمكننا أن نترك إيران تهدد إمدادات الطاقة للعالم إلى الأبد».
The Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Qatar, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, is heading to Tehran today (Thursday) to discuss ways to de-escalate tensions and create favorable conditions for dialogue with Iranian officials.
The spokesperson for the Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Majid Al-Ansari, attributed the importance of the visit to Qatar's firm stance that the diplomatic path is the best way to resolve disputes and enhance security and stability in the region, in posts on his account on "X".
The discussions are expected to address freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz and the necessity of returning it to what it was before February 28, as well as the proposed pathways between Oman and Iran.
In turn, the spokesperson for the Iranian Foreign Ministry, Ismail Baqaei, confirmed to reporters that Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani's visit to Tehran is part of ongoing consultations between Iran and Qatar to expand bilateral relations and promote peace and security in the region.
Baqaei praised "the good efforts made by Qatar in recent months to help prevent the escalation of tensions in the region," affirming that the Qatari Prime Minister will discuss and exchange views during his meeting with Iranian officials regarding the continuation of Qatari mediation efforts and other developments in the region.
For his part, Iranian President Masoud Bezhakian stated that his country's approach is based on understanding and resolving issues through negotiations, threatening to continue to stand firmly against economic pressures.
Bezhakian emphasized the necessity of conducting frank discussions and clarifying various economic issues to the people transparently.
Meanwhile, U.S. Energy Secretary Chris Wright said: "Our goal is for Iran not to possess nuclear weapons, whether through negotiations and inspections or the use of force," explaining that his country seeks to end Iran's nuclear program through negotiations and inspections by the International Atomic Energy Agency.
He added: "We cannot allow Iran to threaten the world's energy supplies forever."
