اختطف قراصنة صوماليون سفينة شحن قبالة سواحل منطقة بونتلاند، وفق تقارير إعلامية، قبل أن تتعرض المنطقة لهجوم جوي غامض أسفر عن سقوط قتلى وجرحى.
وأفادت القناة 12 الإسرائيلية بأن القراصنة استولوا على السفينة التي ترفع علم الكاميرون، واقتادوا طاقمها المكون من 10 أفراد.
ونقل مصدر رسمي صومالي تحدث إلى وكالة «أسوشيتد برس» أن السفينة اعتُرضت على بعد نحو 3.5 ميل بحري من ساحل ماريا، في منطقة إيل التابعة لبونتلاند.
وأوضح المصدر أن القراصنة قادوا السفينة بعد السيطرة عليها باتجاه سواحل نوغال، فيما ضم طاقمها 6 هنود ومواطناً تركياً وآخر جورجياً، إضافة إلى حارسين أمنيين من صربيا.
وتشير التقارير إلى أن 8 قراصنة شاركوا في العملية، ويُعتقد أنهم ينتمون إلى المجموعة نفسها التي تورطت في اختطاف السفينة «M/V Sward» في 26 أبريل الماضي.
وتأتي الواقعة في وقت تشير المعلومات المتداولة إلى عودة نشاط القرصنة قبالة السواحل الصومالية خلال 2026، بعد سنوات من تراجع الظاهرة التي كانت تمثل أحد أبرز التهديدات للملاحة التجارية في خليج عدن والمحيط الهندي.
وبحسب التقارير، جرى اعتراض 5 سفن تجارية منذ أبريل الماضي، ولا تزال 4 منها محتجزة لدى القراصنة، إلى جانب 67 من أفراد أطقمها، في وقت لم تحسم المفاوضات المتعلقة بالإفراج عن المحتجزين بعد.
ويثير تجدد عمليات القرصنة مخاوف جديدة بشأن أمن خطوط الملاحة التجارية في المنطقة، التي تشهد أصلاً اضطرابات أمنية متزايدة، خصوصاً مع استمرار التهديدات التي تواجه السفن التجارية في البحر الأحمر وخليج عدن.
Somali pirates have hijacked a cargo ship off the coast of Puntland, according to media reports, before the area was subjected to a mysterious airstrike that resulted in casualties and injuries.
Israeli Channel 12 reported that the pirates seized the ship flying the Cameroonian flag and took its crew of 10 members hostage.
A Somali official who spoke to the Associated Press stated that the ship was intercepted about 3.5 nautical miles from the coast of Maria, in the Eyl area of Puntland.
The source explained that the pirates steered the ship after taking control of it towards the coasts of Nugal, while its crew included 6 Indians, a Turkish national, a Georgian, in addition to 2 security guards from Serbia.
Reports indicate that 8 pirates participated in the operation, and it is believed they belong to the same group that was involved in the hijacking of the "M/V Sward" on April 26.
This incident comes at a time when circulating information points to a resurgence of piracy off the Somali coasts in 2026, after years of decline in a phenomenon that was one of the most significant threats to commercial navigation in the Gulf of Aden and the Indian Ocean.
According to reports, 5 commercial vessels have been intercepted since last April, and 4 of them are still held by the pirates, along with 67 of their crew members, while negotiations regarding the release of the hostages have not yet been resolved.
The resurgence of piracy raises new concerns about the security of commercial shipping lanes in the region, which is already experiencing increasing security disturbances, especially with the ongoing threats facing commercial vessels in the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden.
