كشفت تقارير إعلامية أمريكية اليوم (الأربعاء)، عن إخضاع ثلاثة مسؤولين في جهاز الخدمة السرية الأمريكي للتحقيق بتهم تتعلق بسوء السلوك يُعتقد أن لها صلة بتسريبات معلومات من داخل الجهاز.
وذكرت تقارير إعلامية متعددة أن المسؤولين الثلاثة يعملون في مكتب الاتصالات، ومن بينهم مدير الاتصالات في الجهاز أنتوني قوقليلمي، مبينة أنه جرى وضعهم في إجازة إدارية وتعليق تصاريحهم الأمنية.
وقال متحدث باسم جهاز الخدمة السرية لصحيفة «نيويورك بوست»: «تم وضع ثلاثة موظفين من غير العاملين في مجال إنفاذ القانون بجهاز الخدمة السرية الأمريكي في إجازة إدارية، بانتظار التحقيق في احتمال ارتكاب مخالفات»، موضحاً أن التحقيق يجري وفقاً للسياسة المعتمدة بواسطة مكتب المسؤولية المهنية.
وأشار المتحدث إلى أن الجهاز لا يستطيع تقديم مزيد من التفاصيل في الوقت الحالي، ولم تتضح حتى الآن طبيعة التسريبات التي يحقق فيها الجهاز.
وذكر المتحدث أن «جهاز الخدمة السرية ملتزم بأعلى معايير المهنية والنزاهة في تنفيذ مهمته التي لا تحتمل الفشل والمتمثلة في حماية الرئيس وكبار المسؤولين الحكوميين»، مؤكداً أن طبيعة عمل الجهاز تتطلب من موظفيه الالتزام الكامل بالواجب والأمانة والشجاعة في جميع جوانب عملهم.
تأتي هذه التحقيقات في وقت تواجه إدارة الرئيس دونالد ترمب ضغوطاً متزايدة بسبب تسريبات كشفت تفاصيل أمنية حساسة تتعلق بتحركات الرئيس وإجراءات حمايته، ومن بين تلك التسريبات معلومات حول قرار ترمب عدم استخدام طائرة «إير فورس وان» الجديدة خلال مغادرته تركيا عقب قمة حلف شمال الأطلسي «الناتو».
American media reports revealed today (Wednesday) that three officials from the U.S. Secret Service are under investigation for misconduct allegations believed to be related to information leaks from within the agency.
Multiple media reports indicated that the three officials work in the communications office, including the agency's communications director, Anthony Guglielmi, noting that they have been placed on administrative leave and their security clearances suspended.
A spokesperson for the Secret Service told the New York Post: "Three non-law enforcement employees of the U.S. Secret Service have been placed on administrative leave pending an investigation into potential misconduct," explaining that the investigation is being conducted in accordance with the policy established by the Office of Professional Responsibility.
The spokesperson noted that the agency cannot provide further details at this time, and the nature of the leaks under investigation has not yet been clarified.
The spokesperson stated that "the Secret Service is committed to the highest standards of professionalism and integrity in carrying out its mission, which is non-negotiable and involves protecting the president and senior government officials," emphasizing that the nature of the agency's work requires its employees to fully adhere to duty, integrity, and courage in all aspects of their work.
This investigation comes at a time when President Donald Trump's administration is facing increasing pressure due to leaks revealing sensitive security details regarding the president's movements and protective measures, including information about Trump's decision not to use the new "Air Force One" aircraft when leaving Turkey following the NATO summit.
