شكّل عام 2016 محطة مهمة في مسيرة المملكة العربية السعودية مع إعلان رؤية السعودية 2030، التي أرست توجهاً واسعاً للتنمية والتطوير، وفتحت آفاقاً جديدة أمام الكفاءات الوطنية للمشاركة في صناعة المستقبل. وكان تمكين المرأة السعودية أحد أبرز التحولات التي شهدتها المملكة خلال هذه المرحلة، إذ تعزز حضورها في مجالات العمل والتنمية وصناعة القرار، وامتد هذا الحضور إلى القطاع الرياضي بصورة لافتة.
ومع برامج الرؤية ومبادراتها، اتسعت مشاركة المرأة في الرياضة السعودية، فبرز حضورها في الممارسة والمنافسة والعمل الإداري، وعضوية مجالس إدارات الأندية، والتحكيم، وتأسيس الفرق والمبادرات الرياضية. وحققت أسماء سعودية إنجازات مميزة على المستويين المحلي والقاري، وأسهمت في بناء تجربة رياضية نسائية تنمو عاماً بعد عام.
وفي محافظة القطيف، أخذت هذه المسيرة حضوراً متنامياً داخل الأندية وخارجها، حيث شاركت المرأة في الفرق الرياضية والأنشطة المختلفة ومجالس الإدارات، وخاضت المنافسات، واعتلت منصات التتويج، وأسهمت في تأسيس مبادرات وفرق رياضية. ومع كل محطة، ظهرت أسماء جديدة تستحق التوثيق والاحتفاء.
في نادي الخليج بسيهات، برزت سمات السيهاتي وياسمين الشافعي ضمن العمل الإداري عام 2021. وفي نادي السلام بالعوامية، حضرت معصومة عبدالله الزاهر وأزهار علي آل ربح ضمن المشهد الرياضي والإداري للنادي. كما شهد نادي مضر بالقديح مشاركة نسائية من خلال آيات حسين الجنبي وألاء البندري.
ويقدم نادي الصفا بصفوى نموذجاً مهماً في مسيرة المرأة داخل منشآت الأندية؛ فقد حصلت وفا بنت سمير آل ناصر على بطاقة عضوية رسمية في النادي، ومُنحت عام 2018 بطاقة «عضو مميز» للسيدات، في مرحلة شهدت توسعاً في استفادة المرأة من المنشآت والأندية الرياضية، وأسهمت هذه الخطوة في تعزيز حضورها داخل البيئة الرياضية المحلية.
وفي عام 2019، سجلت فوزية آل مبارك محطة مهمة من خلال حصولها على موافقة رسمية لممارسة الرياضة داخل منشأة نادي الصفا، بصفتها رئيسة فريق «مشاة صفوى للسيدات»، لتقدم تجربتها نموذجاً للمبادرات المجتمعية التي تسهم في نشر ممارسة الرياضة بصورة منظمة.
وفي كرة القدم، شهدت محافظة القطيف تجربة لافتة مع تأسيس فريق «الواحة» عام 2019، ثم اندماجه لاحقاً ليصبح فريق نادي الترجي للسيدات. وضم الفريق مجموعة من اللاعبات، إلى جانب المديرة التنفيذية همام العوامي، ليشكّل تجربة مبكرة لكرة القدم النسائية المنظمة في المحافظة، ويفتح المجال أمام المزيد من المواهب في اللعبة.
ومن هنا انتقلت الحكاية إلى مرحلة أخرى: مرحلة منصات التتويج.
في رياضة رفع الأثقال، برز اسم الشقيقتين رحمة عبد المنعم الخواهر وفاطمة عبد المنعم الخواهر، وقدمتا سلسلة من النتائج المميزة في دورة الألعاب السعودية والبطولات العربية.
في 27 أكتوبر 2022، حققت رحمة عبد المنعم الخواهر الميدالية الذهبية لوزن 49 كجم ضمن منافسات النسخة الأولى من دورة الألعاب السعودية. وفي اليوم التالي، 28 أكتوبر 2022، حققت شقيقتها فاطمة عبد المنعم الخواهر الميدالية البرونزية لوزن 59 كجم ضمن منافسات الدورة نفسها.
وفي نوفمبر 2023، واصلت فاطمة مشوارها في البطولات العربية، وحققت ثلاث ميداليات برونزية في منافسات الخطف والنتر والمجموع لوزن 64 كجم ضمن البطولة العربية لرفع الأثقال التي أقيمت في مصر. وفي 29 نوفمبر 2023، أضافت إلى سجلها الرياضي الميدالية الذهبية لوزن 59 كجم ضمن منافسات النسخة الثانية من دورة الألعاب السعودية.
واستمرت مشاركاتها العربية، ففي 28 ديسمبر 2024 حققت فاطمة عبد المنعم الخواهر الميدالية البرونزية في منافسات النتر لوزن 64 كجم ضمن بطولة العرب لرفع الأثقال التي أقيمت في قطر.
وتقدم رحمة وفاطمة الخواهر صورة مشرقة للموهبة الرياضية في القطيف؛ شقيقتان، ومسيرة متواصلة، وميداليات في بطولات سعودية وعربية، وتجربة تؤكد أهمية اكتشاف القدرات الشابة وتوفير البيئة المناسبة لتطويرها.
وفي رياضة الجيوجيتسو، سجلت كوثر أنور أبو الرحي حضوراً مميزاً بعد تحقيقها ذهبية البطولة الرسمية في الرياض، لتضيف إنجازاً جديداً إلى سجل اللاعبات في المحافظة، وتقدم نموذجاً آخر لتنوع المواهب الرياضية.
أما في الفروسية، فقد حضرت المرأة القطيفية في المحافل الدولية من خلال الفارسة أسمى السيهاتي، المتخصصة في سباقات القدرة والتحمل، والتي حققت إنجازات بارزة على المستويين الدولي والمحلي.
وعلى المستوى الدولي، حققت أسمى السيهاتي المركز الأول والميدالية الذهبية في سباق كأس الدانوب للقدرة والتحمل لمسافة 80 كيلومتراً، الذي أقيم في جمهورية سلوفاكيا، لتسجل حضوراً سعودياً مميزاً في إحدى رياضات الفروسية التي تتطلب قدراً عالياً من المهارة والتحمل والخبرة.
وعلى المستوى المحلي، حظيت بتكريم رئيس الاتحاد السعودي للفروسية بوصفها أفضل فارسة في رياضة القدرة والتحمل للموسم الرياضي. وإلى جانب احترافها رياضة ركوب الخيل، تحمل أسمى شهادة أكاديمية في الهندسة المعمارية من بريطانيا، لتقدم نموذجاً يجمع بين التخصص الأكاديمي والطموح الرياضي.
وتجسد تجربة أسمى السيهاتي صورة ملهمة للمرأة السعودية التي تجمع بين الطموح الرياضي والتميز الأكاديمي، وتمثل الوطن في المحافل الدولية، وتؤكد قدرة القطيف على تقديم فارسات يحققن حضوراً مشرفاً في ميادين الفروسية والرياضة العالمية.
وفي كرة اليد، التي تحظى بمكانة خاصة في القطيف وترتبط بتاريخ المحافظة الرياضي، جاء حضور نسائي مميز في مجال التحكيم. فقد سجلت إسراء الغافلي وجنان الإبراهيم إنجازاً تاريخياً بوصفهما أول طاقم تحكيم نسائي سعودي ينال الشارة القارية لكرة اليد من الاتحاد الآسيوي لكرة اليد، وذلك في نوفمبر 2025م.
وبدأت الحكمتان مسيرتهما من المنطقة الشرقية، وشاركتا في إدارة مباريات الدوري الممتاز للشباب والناشئين، إلى جانب مباريات الدوري النسائي، وصولاً إلى المستوى القاري، في تجربة تعكس تطور التحكيم النسائي السعودي ووصول الكفاءات الوطنية إلى مواقع متقدمة.
وامتد هذا الحضور إلى مجالس إدارات الأندية، حيث شغلت الأستاذة نسرين المقظوظ عضوية مجلس إدارة نادي النور، ثم تواصل حضور المرأة في النادي من خلال عرفات الماجد وسكينة القصاب عام 2026م، لتترسخ مكانة المرأة في العمل الإداري الرياضي ومشاركتها في صناعة القرار داخل الأندية.
وعند جمع هذه التجارب، تظهر صورة متكاملة لمسيرة المرأة في رياضة القطيف: لاعبات اعتلين منصات التتويج، وفارسة حققت الذهب في محفل دولي، وإداريات شاركن في مجالس الأندية، وحَكَمات وصلن إلى المستوى القاري، ومبادرات أسهمت في تأسيس الفرق والمجموعات الرياضية.
وتحمل هذه التجارب قيمة تتجاوز الميداليات والمناصب، فهي تصنع نماذج محلية تلهم الأجيال الجديدة، وتقدم صورة حية للمرأة السعودية القادرة على المنافسة والتميز وتحمل المسؤولية. وتمتلك القطيف مواهب متعددة، وإرثاً رياضياً غنياً، وتجارب ناجحة تشكّل قاعدة مهمة لبناء منظومة رياضية نسائية أكثر استدامة.

فالمرأة القطيفية اليوم جزء فاعل من صناعة المشهد الرياضي، وحضورها يتسع في الملاعب والمنشآت ومجالس الإدارات ومنصات التتويج والمحافل الدولية. وما تحقق يمثل بداية لمسيرة تحمل أسماء جديدة، وإنجازات أكبر، وحضوراً أوسع للقطيف في خارطة الرياضة السعودية.
ومن القطيف تتواصل الحكاية، حكاية نساء اخترن الرياضة ميداناً للطموح، وحوّلن المشاركة إلى إنجاز، والإنجاز إلى نموذج يُحتذى. وكل إنجاز يتحقق اليوم يفتح الطريق أمام موهبة جديدة غداً، لتبقى الرياضة مساحة لصناعة النجاح، ومنصة لحضور المرأة السعودية في المشهد الوطني.
The year 2016 marked an important milestone in the journey of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia with the announcement of Vision 2030, which established a broad direction for development and progress, opening new horizons for national talents to participate in shaping the future. Empowering Saudi women was one of the most prominent transformations witnessed by the Kingdom during this phase, as their presence was enhanced in the fields of work, development, and decision-making, extending notably to the sports sector.
With the vision's programs and initiatives, women's participation in Saudi sports expanded, as they emerged in practice, competition, administrative work, club board memberships, refereeing, and the establishment of teams and sports initiatives. Saudi women achieved remarkable accomplishments at both local and continental levels, contributing to the development of a women's sports experience that grows year after year.
In the Qatif Governorate, this journey gained a growing presence both inside and outside clubs, where women participated in sports teams, various activities, and boards of directors, competed, ascended to podiums, and contributed to the establishment of initiatives and sports teams. With each milestone, new names emerged that deserve documentation and celebration.
At Al-Khaleej Club in Saihat, the characteristics of Al-Sihati and Yasmin Al-Shafie emerged in administrative work in 2021. At Al-Salam Club in Al-Awamiyah, Masouma Abdullah Al-Zaher and Azhar Ali Al-Rabih were present in the club's sports and administrative scene. The Mudar Club in Al-Qudaih also witnessed female participation through Ayat Hussein Al-Janbi and Alaa Al-Bandari.
Al-Safa Club in Safwa presents an important model in the journey of women within club facilities; Wafa bint Samir Al-Nasser obtained an official membership card in the club and was granted a "Distinguished Member" card for women in 2018, during a phase that saw an expansion in women's utilization of sports facilities and clubs. This step contributed to enhancing their presence within the local sports environment.
In 2019, Fawziya Al-Mubarak recorded an important milestone by obtaining official approval to practice sports within the Al-Safa Club facility as the head of the "Safwa Ladies Walking Team," presenting her experience as a model for community initiatives that contribute to the organized practice of sports.
In football, the Qatif Governorate witnessed a remarkable experience with the establishment of the "Al-Waha" team in 2019, which later merged to become the Al-Taraji Ladies Team. The team included a group of players, alongside the executive director Hamam Al-Awami, forming an early experience for organized women's football in the governorate and opening the door for more talents in the game.
From here, the story transitioned to another phase: the podiums of victory.
In weightlifting, the names of the sisters Rahma Abdul Moneim Al-Khawaher and Fatima Abdul Moneim Al-Khawaher stood out, as they achieved a series of remarkable results in the Saudi Games and Arab championships.
On October 27, 2022, Rahma Abdul Moneim Al-Khawaher won the gold medal in the 49 kg category at the first edition of the Saudi Games. The following day, October 28, 2022, her sister Fatima Abdul Moneim Al-Khawaher won the bronze medal in the 59 kg category at the same event.
In November 2023, Fatima continued her journey in the Arab championships, winning three bronze medals in the snatch, clean and jerk, and total for the 64 kg category at the Arab Weightlifting Championship held in Egypt. On November 29, 2023, she added to her sports record the gold medal in the 59 kg category at the second edition of the Saudi Games.
Her Arab participations continued, as on December 28, 2024, Fatima Abdul Moneim Al-Khawaher won the bronze medal in the clean and jerk for the 64 kg category at the Arab Weightlifting Championship held in Qatar.
Rahma and Fatima Al-Khawaher present a bright image of sports talent in Qatif; two sisters, a continuous journey, and medals in Saudi and Arab championships, showcasing the importance of discovering young talents and providing the appropriate environment for their development.
In jiu-jitsu, Kawthar Anwar Abu Al-Rahi made a distinguished presence after winning the gold medal at the official championship in Riyadh, adding a new achievement to the record of female athletes in the governorate and presenting another model of diverse sports talents.
In equestrian sports, Qatif women made their mark on the international stage through the rider Asma Al-Sihati, who specializes in endurance races and has achieved notable accomplishments at both international and local levels.
On the international level, Asma Al-Sihati achieved first place and the gold medal in the Danube Cup endurance race over a distance of 80 kilometers, held in the Slovak Republic, marking a distinguished Saudi presence in one of the equestrian sports that requires a high level of skill, endurance, and experience.
On the local level, she was honored by the President of the Saudi Equestrian Federation as the best female rider in endurance sports for the sports season. In addition to her professionalism in horseback riding, Asma holds an academic degree in architecture from Britain, presenting a model that combines academic specialization and athletic ambition.
Asma Al-Sihati's experience embodies an inspiring image of the Saudi woman who combines athletic ambition and academic excellence, representing the nation on international platforms, and confirming Qatif's ability to produce female riders who achieve honorable presence in the fields of equestrianism and global sports.
In handball, which holds a special place in Qatif and is linked to the sports history of the governorate, there was a remarkable female presence in the field of refereeing. Israa Al-Ghafli and Janan Al-Ibrahim recorded a historic achievement as the first Saudi female refereeing team to receive the continental badge for handball from the Asian Handball Federation in November 2025.
The two referees began their journey from the Eastern Province, participating in managing matches in the youth and junior premier leagues, alongside women's league matches, reaching the continental level, in an experience that reflects the development of Saudi female refereeing and the advancement of national competencies to higher positions.
This presence extended to club boards of directors, where Professor Nasreen Al-Maqzouth occupied a membership in the board of directors of Al-Noor Club, followed by the continued presence of women in the club through Arafa Al-Majid and Sukaina Al-Qassab in 2026, solidifying the position of women in sports administrative work and their participation in decision-making within clubs.
When gathering these experiences, a comprehensive picture of the journey of women in Qatif sports emerges: athletes who have ascended to podiums, a rider who achieved gold on an international platform, administrators who participated in club boards, referees who reached the continental level, and initiatives that contributed to establishing teams and sports groups.
These experiences carry a value that transcends medals and positions; they create local models that inspire new generations and present a vivid image of the Saudi woman capable of competing, excelling, and taking responsibility. Qatif possesses diverse talents, a rich sports heritage, and successful experiences that form an important foundation for building a more sustainable women's sports system.
The upcoming phase opens wide horizons for discovering talents at an early age, developing training programs, supporting women's teams, qualifying administrative and refereeing competencies, and providing a sports environment that helps talented individuals transition from participation to competition and achievement.
Today, Qatif women are an active part of shaping the sports scene, with their presence expanding in stadiums, facilities, boards of directors, podiums, and international platforms. What has been achieved represents the beginning of a journey that carries new names, greater achievements, and a broader presence for Qatif on the map of Saudi sports.
From Qatif, the story continues—a story of women who chose sports as a field of ambition, transforming participation into achievement and achievement into a model to be emulated.
