أكدت مصادر عسكرية يمنية لـ«عكاظ»، مقتل عدد من مسلحي تنظيم القاعدة الإرهابي المهاجمين، و4 جنود من القوات الأمنية أثناء إحباط هجوم إرهابي استهدف مقر المجمع الحكومي في مديرية المحفد بمحافظة أبين وسط اليمن.
وقال قائد ألوية الدعم والإسناد قائد اللواء الأول دعم وإسناد قائد محور أبين العميد نصر عاطف اليافعي: إن قوات اللواء الأول تمكنت من إفشال هجوم إرهابي واسع شنته عناصر تنظيم القاعدة الإرهابي، صباح اليوم، على مقر المجمع الحكومي في مديرية المحفد بمحافظة أبين، مبيناً أن العناصر الإرهابية هاجمت المقر مستخدمة سيارتين مفخختين.
تفاصيل الهجوم
وأشار إلى أن قوات اللواء تمكنت من تفجير السيارة الأولى بالقرب من البوابة الرئيسية، فيما حاولت عناصر أخرى التسلل إلى داخل المجمع، إلا أن القوات تصدت لها وتمكنت من القضاء على 6 انغماسيين إرهابيين كانوا يرتدون أحزمة ناسفة، موضحاً أن الهجوم أسفر عن مقتل 4 جنود أثناء تصديهم للعناصر الإرهابية.
القضاء على المهاجمين
وتوعد اليافعي بأن لا تذهب دماء الجنود هدراً، موضحاً أن المعركة ضد الإرهاب مستمرة حتى تطهير محافظة أبين بالكامل من أوكار التنظيم وعناصره.
وأعلن نجاح قواته في السيطرة على الموقف بشكل كامل عقب الاشتباكات، وتمكنها من القضاء على جميع المهاجمين الإرهابيين الذين حاولوا عبثاً زعزعة الأمن والاستقرار في المحافظة، لافتاً إلى أن قوات محور أبين في جاهزية عالية لمواجهة أي تهديد إرهابي يستهدف أمن واستقرار المحافظة.
ونعى عضو مجلس القيادة الرئاسي عبدالرحمن المحرمي القتلى، مؤكداً أن هذه الجرائم الغادرة لن تزيد القوات المسلحة والأمن إلا إصراراً وعزيمة على مواصلة دحر الإرهاب واجتثاث عناصره الآثمة من جذورها.

Brigadier General Nasr Atef Al-Yafai, commander of the Support and Reinforcement Brigades and the First Support and Reinforcement Brigade and Abyan Axis, stated that the forces of the First Brigade managed to thwart a wide-ranging terrorist attack launched by Al-Qaeda elements this morning on the government complex in Al-Mahfad district, indicating that the terrorist elements attacked the complex using two explosive-laden vehicles.
Details of the Attack
He pointed out that the brigade's forces were able to detonate the first vehicle near the main gate, while other elements attempted to infiltrate the complex, but the forces repelled them and managed to eliminate 6 terrorist infiltrators who were wearing explosive belts, clarifying that the attack resulted in the death of 4 soldiers while they were confronting the terrorist elements.
Eliminating the Attackers
Al-Yafai vowed that the blood of the soldiers would not be shed in vain, explaining that the battle against terrorism continues until Abyan province is completely cleansed of the organization's hideouts and its elements.
He announced the success of his forces in fully controlling the situation following the clashes and their ability to eliminate all the terrorist attackers who attempted in vain to destabilize security and stability in the province, noting that the Abyan Axis forces are in high readiness to face any terrorist threat targeting the security and stability of the province.
Member of the Presidential Leadership Council Abdulrahman Al-Mahrami mourned the dead, affirming that these treacherous crimes will only increase the armed and security forces' determination and resolve to continue defeating terrorism and uprooting its sinful elements from their roots.
