في واقعة مثيرة تُمثل اختراقاً كبيراً للدول الأوروبية، أصدرت محكمة دريسدن العليا في ألمانيا، اليوم (الثلاثاء)، حكماً بالسجن لمدة أربع سنوات ونصف على مواطن ألماني يُدعى جيان ج.، بتهمة التجسس لصالح الصين.
مساعد سياسي ألماني «جاسوساً»
كان جيان، الذي عمل مساعداً للسياسي البارز ماكسيمليان كراه من حزب «البديل من أجل ألمانيا» اليميني المتطرف، يراقب المعارضين الصينيين في أوروبا ويشارك معلومات حساسة من البرلمان الأوروبي مع المخابرات الصينية، وفقاً لقاضي المحكمة.
ويأتي هذا الحكم وسط مخاوف متزايدة من أن أوروبا أصبحت هدفًا للتجسس الصيني.
23 عاماً من التجسس للصين
ووفقاً للتهم، بدأ جيان العمل لصالح جهاز مخابرات صيني منذ عام 2002، حيث جمع وثائق وملفات من البرلمان الأوروبي أثناء عمله مع كراه، الذي كان نائباً أوروبياً سابقاً ويمثل الآن حزب «البديل» في البرلمان الألماني.
فيما التزمت السفارة الصينية في ألمانيا الصمت، ونفت بكين سابقاً اتهامات التجسس في أوروبا.
تعليق السياسي الألماني
وعلّق كراه، اليوم (الثلاثاء) قائلاً إنه يتطلع إلى الحصول على «مزيد من الوضوح حول أنشطة التجسس التي كان ضحيتها» من خلال الأسباب المكتوبة للحكم التي لم تُنشر بعد، مشيراً إلى أنه شدد إجراءات الأمن في مكتبه بشكل كبير بعد اعتقال جيان.
وتزامنت التهم مع حملة كراه الانتخابية كمرشح رئيسي للحزب في البرلمان الأوروبي، ما أثار قلقاً بشأن التوجهات المؤيدة للصين وروسيا لبعض قادة الحزب.

In a dramatic incident representing a significant breach for European countries, the Dresden Higher Court in Germany issued a ruling today (Tuesday) sentencing a German citizen named Jian G. to four and a half years in prison for espionage on behalf of China.
German Political Aide as a "Spy"
Jian, who worked as an assistant to prominent politician Maximilian Krah from the far-right "Alternative for Germany" party, was monitoring Chinese dissidents in Europe and sharing sensitive information from the European Parliament with Chinese intelligence, according to the court judge.
This ruling comes amid growing concerns that Europe has become a target for Chinese espionage.
23 Years of Spying for China
According to the charges, Jian began working for a Chinese intelligence agency in 2002, gathering documents and files from the European Parliament while working with Krah, who is a former Member of the European Parliament and now represents the "Alternative" party in the German parliament.
Meanwhile, the Chinese embassy in Germany remained silent, and Beijing has previously denied allegations of espionage in Europe.
Comment from the German Politician
Krah commented today (Tuesday) that he looks forward to gaining "more clarity regarding the espionage activities of which he was a victim" through the written reasons for the ruling that have not yet been published, noting that he has significantly tightened security measures in his office following Jian's arrest.
The charges coincided with Krah's election campaign as the main candidate for the party in the European Parliament, raising concerns about pro-China and pro-Russia tendencies among some party leaders.
