طالب المتحدث باسم الأمين العام للأمم المتحدة ستيفان دوجاريك، بضرورة تحرك المجتمع الدولي بجدية لوقف الحرب الإسرائيلية على قطاع غزة، مؤكدًا أن مؤتمر نيويورك لحل الدولتين - الذي تقوده السعودية وفرنسا يحمل أهمية كبيرة تتجاوز الطابع الرمزي.
وبحسب تقارير إعلامية عالمية، قال دوجاريك، اليوم (الإثنين): «نحتاج اليوم شجاعة سياسية من قادة العالم من أجل الدفع نحو وقف إطلاق النار ووقف المأساة الإنسانية المتواصلة في قطاع غزة».
موقف غوتيريش
وأكد أن الأمين العام للأمم المتحدة أنطونيو غوتيريش كان ثابتًا في مواقفه من القضية الفلسطينية، بينما الآخرون هم من غيّروا مواقفهم، مضيفًا أن على قادة العالم تجاوز نهج التخويف الذي تتبعه إسرائيل.
وأضاف أن واقع مجلس الأمن معروف للجميع، لكن الجمعية العامة للأمم المتحدة يمكن أن تلعب دورًا كبيرًا في الدفع نحو تحرك دولي.
تأشيرة أبو مازن
وفي الوقت نفسه، انتقد المتحدث باسم الأمين العام للأمم المتحدة رفض الولايات المتحدة منح الرئيس الفلسطيني محمود عباس تأشيرة دخول لحضور أعمال المؤتمر، واصفًا الأمر بـ«المؤسف».
الأنظار إلى نيويورك
يأتي ذلك فيما تتجه الأنظار إلى نيويورك، اليوم (الإثنين)، وسط ترقب لاعتراف المزيد من الدول بالدولة الفلسطينية خلال فعاليات الجمعية العامة للأمم المتحدة، تتزايد الأصوات المطالبة بتكريس الحق الفلسطيني في إقامة دولة مستقلة ذات سيادة، من أجل الحفاظ على حل الدولتين قائماً لمواجهة الحرب الشرسة التي تشنها إسرائيل على الفلسطينيين في غزة والضفة الغربية.
روسيا وحل الدولتين
وقال المتحدث باسم الكرملين ديميتري بيسكوف، إن روسيا لا تزال تعتقد أن حل الدولتين هو السبيل الوحيد لتسوية الصراع في الشرق الأوسط، مشدداً بالقول: «نظل ملتزمين بالقرارات الأساسية لمجلس الأمن التابع للأمم المتحدة، ونظل ملتزمين بالموقف الدولي بشأن إمكانية حل الصراع الفلسطيني الإسرائيلي على أساس حل الدولتين».
مطالبات صينية
في الوقت ذاته، دعا المتحدث باسم وزارة الخارجية الصينية لين جيان، إلى التمسك بحل الدولتين، وتعزيز التوافق حوله ورفض أي عمل أحادي يقوض أساس هذا الحل، مشدداً على أن «القوة والعنف لن يحققا السلام والأمان».
البرتغال تنضم إلى بريطانيا وكندا وأستراليا
وكانت البرتغال انضمت، مساء أمس (الأحد) إلى كل من المملكة المتحدة وكندا وأستراليا، للاعتراف بالدولة الفلسطينية في خطوة تشكل تحولا مع استمرار الحرب في قطاع غزة.
وقال وزير الخارجية البرتغالي باولو رانغيل في تصريح للصحفيين في نيويورك عشية بدء أعمال الجمعية العامة للأمم المتحدة: «إن الاعتراف بدولة فلسطين هو تنفيذ لسياسة أساسية وثابتة وتحظى بقبول واسع»، مُضيفًا أن البرتغال تدعو إلى حل الدولتين كونه سبيلا وحيدا نحو سلام دائم وعادل.
The spokesperson for the United Nations Secretary-General, Stéphane Dujarric, called for the international community to take serious action to stop the Israeli war on the Gaza Strip, emphasizing that the New York conference on the two-state solution, led by Saudi Arabia and France, holds great importance that goes beyond mere symbolism.
According to global media reports, Dujarric said today (Monday): “We need political courage from world leaders today to push for a ceasefire and to stop the ongoing humanitarian tragedy in the Gaza Strip.”
Guterres' Position
He affirmed that UN Secretary-General António Guterres has been steadfast in his positions regarding the Palestinian issue, while others have changed their stances, adding that world leaders must move beyond the intimidation tactics employed by Israel.
He added that the reality of the Security Council is known to all, but the UN General Assembly can play a significant role in pushing for international action.
Abu Mazen's Visa
At the same time, the spokesperson for the UN Secretary-General criticized the United States for refusing to grant Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas a visa to attend the conference, describing the situation as “regrettable.”
Eyes on New York
This comes as attention turns to New York today (Monday), amid anticipation of more countries recognizing the Palestinian state during the UN General Assembly sessions, with increasing calls to affirm the Palestinian right to establish an independent sovereign state, in order to maintain the two-state solution in the face of the fierce war being waged by Israel against the Palestinians in Gaza and the West Bank.
Russia and the Two-State Solution
The Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov stated that Russia still believes that the two-state solution is the only way to resolve the conflict in the Middle East, emphasizing: “We remain committed to the fundamental decisions of the UN Security Council, and we remain committed to the international position regarding the possibility of resolving the Palestinian-Israeli conflict based on the two-state solution.”
Chinese Demands
At the same time, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lin Jian called for adherence to the two-state solution, enhancing consensus around it, and rejecting any unilateral actions that undermine the basis of this solution, stressing that “force and violence will not achieve peace and security.”
Portugal Joins the UK, Canada, and Australia
Portugal joined last night (Sunday) with the United Kingdom, Canada, and Australia in recognizing the Palestinian state in a move that represents a shift amid the ongoing war in the Gaza Strip.
Portuguese Foreign Minister Paulo Rangel stated in a press conference in New York on the eve of the UN General Assembly sessions: “Recognizing the State of Palestine is the implementation of a fundamental and consistent policy that enjoys wide acceptance,” adding that Portugal calls for a two-state solution as the only path to lasting and just peace.
