فيما حذر رئيس هيئة الأركان إيال زامير من أن احتلال غزة سيكلف الكثير من الجنود، كشفت وسائل إعلام إسرائيلية اليوم (الأربعاء) عن ضغوطات يمارسها الوسطاء لوقف خطة نتنياهو لاحتلال غزة.
وقالت هيئة البث الإسرائيلية إن الوسطاء يضغطون لوقف خطة احتلال غزة وإعادة حركة حماس وإسرائيل إلى طاولة المفاوضات.
ونقلت الهيئة عن مصدر إسرائيلي قوله إن فرصة العودة للمفاوضات قبل إقرار الخطة معدومة.
ونقلت هيئة البث الإسرائيلية عن رئيس الأركان جيش الاحتلال، إيال زامير، قوله في اجتماعات مغلقة إن الجيش سينفذ ما تقرره القيادة السياسية، في ظل تصاعد النقاشات حول خطة احتلال قطاع غزة بالكامل وتحذيرات من تبعاتها العسكرية.
فيما أفادت القناة الـ13 الإسرائيلية أن رئيس أركان الجيش حذر رئيس الوزراء بنيامين نتنياهو من أن خطة احتلال قطاع غزة بالكامل ستؤدي إلى مقتل عدد كبير من الجنود الإسرائيليين.
في الوقت ذاته، احتشد متظاهرون إسرائيليون أمام وزارة الدفاع في تل أبيب، مطالبين الحكومة بعدم تنفيذ عمليات عسكرية في المناطق التي يُشتبه بوجود الأسرى الإسرائيليين فيها داخل قطاع غزة.
وذكرت وسائل إعلام إسرائيلية أن اشتباكات بالأيدي وقعت بين متظاهرين وقوات الشرطة عند مدخل وزارة الدفاع في تل أبيب، في ظل تصاعد الضغوط الشعبية على الحكومة للإسراع في حل قضية الأسرى.
وأشارت إلى أن المحتجين عبروا عن رفضهم نية الحكومة احتلال القطاع، محذرين من تداعيات ذلك على مصير الأسرى والوضع الإنساني.
في الوقت ذاته، طالبت عائلات الأسرى رئيس الأركان بعدم السماح للحكومة بقتل أبنائهم عبثاً، محذرة من تداعيات استمرار التصعيد.
وقالت عائلات الأسرى الإسرائيليين في غزة إنها ستلجأ إلى العصيان المدني إذا لم تستجب حكومة بنيامين نتنياهو لمطالبها بإبرام صفقة تعيد أبناءهم.
وفيما تتزايد التحذيرات من خطورة احتلال غزة، يدفع الوزراء المتطروفون الإسرائيليون بنتنياهو إلى اتخاذ القرار.
وقال وزير المالية الإسرائيلي المتطرف بتسلئيل سموتريتش لا يهمني سكان غزة، يجب خنق حركة حماس اقتصادياً ومنعها من الحصول على المساعدات، مشيراً إلى أنهم قد يعدون ميزانية إذا اضطروا لتمويل المساعدات بأنفسهم ومنع وصول الشاحنات إلى «حماس»، على حد زعمه.
وأقر سموتريتش بتكبد الإحتلال الإسرائيلي خسائر بأكثر 300 مليار شيكل (أكثر من 88 مليار دولار)، مشيراً إلى أن هناك ضغوطات أوروبية ومن اليسار الإسرائيلي لوقف الحرب، متوعداً بالعمل كل ما في وسعه للتشجيع على استمرار الحرب.

The authority reported an Israeli source saying that the chance of returning to negotiations before the plan is approved is nonexistent.
The Israeli Broadcasting Authority quoted the Chief of Staff of the occupation army, Eyal Zamir, as saying in closed meetings that the army will implement what the political leadership decides, amid escalating discussions about the plan to fully occupy the Gaza Strip and warnings about its military repercussions.
Meanwhile, Channel 13 reported that the army chief warned Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu that the plan to fully occupy the Gaza Strip would lead to the deaths of a large number of Israeli soldiers.
At the same time, Israeli demonstrators gathered outside the Ministry of Defense in Tel Aviv, demanding that the government refrain from conducting military operations in areas suspected of harboring Israeli captives within the Gaza Strip.
Israeli media reported that scuffles broke out between demonstrators and police forces at the entrance of the Ministry of Defense in Tel Aviv, amid rising public pressure on the government to expedite the resolution of the captives' issue.
They noted that the protesters expressed their rejection of the government's intention to occupy the strip, warning of the implications for the fate of the captives and the humanitarian situation.
At the same time, families of the captives urged the Chief of Staff not to allow the government to kill their sons in vain, warning of the consequences of continued escalation.
The families of the Israeli captives in Gaza stated that they would resort to civil disobedience if Netanyahu's government did not respond to their demands for a deal to bring their children back.
As warnings about the dangers of occupying Gaza increase, extremist Israeli ministers are pushing Netanyahu to make a decision.
Israeli Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich, an extremist, said, "I do not care about the residents of Gaza; Hamas must be economically strangled and prevented from receiving aid," indicating that they might prepare a budget if they had to fund the aid themselves and prevent trucks from reaching "Hamas," as he claimed.
Smotrich acknowledged that the Israeli occupation has incurred losses of more than 300 billion shekels (over 88 billion dollars), pointing out that there is European and Israeli leftist pressure to stop the war, vowing to do everything in his power to encourage the continuation of the war.
