أعلنت هيئة تطوير المنطقة الشرقية خلال اللقاء الإعلامي الذي عُقد اليوم (الأحد) بمركز سلطان بن عبدالعزيز (سايتك) إطلاق موسم الخبر 2025، الذي يُقام بدعم من هيئة تطوير الشرقية والهيئة السعودية للسياحة، بالشراكة مع مركز الملك عبدالعزيز الثقافي العالمي (إثراء) «مبادرة أرامكو»، إلى جانب عدد من الداعمين والشركاء والرعاة من القطاعين العام والخاص.
وشهد اللقاء إقامة جلسة حوارية شارك فيها عدد من ممثلي الجهات المشاركة في تنظيم الموسم، ناقشوا خلالها أهمية التكامل بين القطاعات في دعم صناعة السياحة الوطنية وتعزيز جاذبية المنطقة الشرقية كوجهة ثقافية وترفيهية، وذلك بمشاركة نائب الرئيس التنفيذي لقطاع تحفيز الاستثمار في هيئة تطوير المنطقة الشرقية المهندس محمد بن سعيد العبدالله، ومدير مركز الملك عبدالعزيز الثقافي العالمي (إثراء) -المكلف- مصعب السعران، والمتحدث باسم الهيئة السعودية للسياحة عبدالله الدخيل، ورئيس نادي القادسية بدر الرزيزا، ومدير الإعلام والتواصل المؤسسي في بلدية الخبر سلطان محمد العتيبي، والرئيس التنفيذي لشركة CreativeXP حبيب المرزوق.
تعزيز مكانة الخبر كوجهة سياحية
وأكد المشاركون في الجلسة أن الموسم سيعزز مكانة الخبر كوجهة سياحية وثقافية رائدة على مستوى المملكة والمنطقة، وسيسهم في إبراز هوية الشرقية الغنية بتراثها وإبداعها، من خلال فعاليات تجمع بين الثقافة والترفيه والابتكار والاستدامة، وتعمل على رفع جودة الحياة وتنشيط الحركة الاقتصادية والسياحية.
وخلال اللقاء الإعلامي أوضح مدير إدارة مكتب الوجهات السياحية في هيئة تطوير المنطقة الشرقية المهندس ثامر الشيخ أن الموسم يقدم تجربة سياحية وترفيهية تمتد من 23 أكتوبر 2025 حتى 31 يناير 2026، عبر أكثر من 147 فعالية متنوعة موزعة على 7 مناطق رئيسية تشمل «ساحة الاحتفالات – الواجهة البحرية، مركز الملك عبدالعزيز الثقافي العالمي (إثراء)، مركز سلطان بن عبدالعزيز للعلوم والتقنية (سايتك)، أجدان ووك، الشاطئ الرملي، كورنيش الخبر الشمالي».
وتتضمن عدداً من الفعاليات، منها: حفل افتتاح الموسم بمركز الملك عبدالعزيز الثقافي العالمي (إثراء)، كأس نادي الصقور، أمسيات سايتك التراثية والموسيقية، منطقة نسيم الخبر الشاطئية، وفعالية «بيج باونس» كأكبر مدينة ألعاب هوائية في العالم، مهرجان القادسية، وعدد من الحفلات الغنائية.
رفع جودة الحياة للسكان والزوار
وأشار الشيخ إلى أن أهداف الموسم تتمثل في رفع جودة الحياة للسكان والزوار، وتنشيط الاقتصاد المحلي، وزيادة معدلات الإشغال السياحي، وتمكين رواد الأعمال والقطاع الخاص من خلال فرص استثمارية وتجارية جديدة.
ورفع الرئيس التنفيذي لهيئة تطوير المنطقة الشرقية المكلف الدكتور طلال بن نبيل المغلوث أسمى آيات الشكر والعرفان إلى أمير المنطقة الشرقية رئيس مجلس هيئة تطوير المنطقة الشرقية الأمير سعود بن نايف بن عبدالعزيز، ونائب أمير المنطقة الشرقية نائب رئيس الهيئة رئيس اللجنة التنفيذية بهيئة تطوير الشرقية الأمير سعود بن بندر بن عبدالعزيز، على دعمهما المستمر لمبادرات الهيئة التنموية والسياحية. وأكد الدكتور المغلوث أن موسم الخبر 2025 سيمثل رافداً مهماً للاقتصاد المحلي من خلال رفع نسب الإشغال الفندقي وتنشيط قطاعات الضيافة والتجزئة وتعزيز مكانة المنطقة الشرقية كوجهة وطنية للثقافة والسياحة والترفيه، بما يعكس حيوية المنطقة وتنوعها الثقافي والاجتماعي.
وأضاف الدكتور المغلوث أن إجمالي الإنفاق المتوقع خلال الموسم يتجاوز 85 مليون ريال، ما يعكس الأثر الاقتصادي الإيجابي الكبير الذي سيحدثه على المدينة ومرافقها. كما أوضح أن الموسم سيوفر أكثر من 7200 وظيفة مباشرة وغير مباشرة، تسهم في دعم الكفاءات الوطنية وتعزيز مشاركة الشباب في صناعة الفعاليات والسياحة.
The Eastern Province Development Authority announced during the media meeting held today (Sunday) at the Sultan bin Abdulaziz Center (SciTech) the launch of the Khobar Season 2025, which is held with the support of the Eastern Province Development Authority and the Saudi Tourism Authority, in partnership with the King Abdulaziz Center for World Culture (Ithra) as part of the "Aramco Initiative," along with several supporters, partners, and sponsors from the public and private sectors.
The meeting featured a panel discussion with several representatives from the organizations involved in organizing the season, who discussed the importance of integration between sectors in supporting the national tourism industry and enhancing the attractiveness of the Eastern Province as a cultural and entertainment destination. Participants included the Vice President for Investment Promotion at the Eastern Province Development Authority, Engineer Mohammed bin Saeed Al-Abdullah, the Acting Director of the King Abdulaziz Center for World Culture (Ithra), Musab Al-Sarhan, the spokesperson for the Saudi Tourism Authority, Abdullah Al-Dakhil, the President of Al-Qadisiyah Club, Badr Al-Raziza, the Director of Media and Corporate Communication at the Al-Khobar Municipality, Sultan Mohammed Al-Otaibi, and the CEO of CreativeXP, Habib Al-Marzouq.
Enhancing Khobar's Status as a Tourist Destination
Participants in the session confirmed that the season will enhance Khobar's status as a leading tourist and cultural destination at the national and regional levels, and will contribute to highlighting the rich identity of the Eastern Province through events that combine culture, entertainment, innovation, and sustainability, aiming to improve the quality of life and stimulate economic and tourism activity.
During the media meeting, the Director of the Tourism Destinations Office at the Eastern Province Development Authority, Engineer Thamer Al-Sheikh, explained that the season offers a tourism and entertainment experience running from October 23, 2025, to January 31, 2026, featuring more than 147 diverse events spread across 7 main areas, including "Celebration Square – the waterfront, the King Abdulaziz Center for World Culture (Ithra), the Sultan bin Abdulaziz Center for Science and Technology (SciTech), Ajdan Walk, the sandy beach, and the Northern Corniche of Khobar."
The season includes several events, such as the opening ceremony at the King Abdulaziz Center for World Culture (Ithra), the Falcons Club Cup, SciTech Heritage and Music Evenings, the Khobar Breeze Beach Area, and the "Big Bounce" event as the largest inflatable amusement park in the world, the Al-Qadisiyah Festival, and several musical concerts.
Improving Quality of Life for Residents and Visitors
Al-Sheikh pointed out that the season's objectives include improving the quality of life for residents and visitors, stimulating the local economy, increasing tourism occupancy rates, and empowering entrepreneurs and the private sector through new investment and business opportunities.
The Acting CEO of the Eastern Province Development Authority, Dr. Talal bin Nabil Al-Maghlouth, expressed his utmost gratitude and appreciation to the Emir of the Eastern Province, Chairman of the Eastern Province Development Authority, Prince Saud bin Nayef bin Abdulaziz, and the Deputy Emir of the Eastern Province, Vice Chairman of the Authority, and Chairman of the Executive Committee at the Eastern Province Development Authority, Prince Saud bin Bandar bin Abdulaziz, for their continuous support of the Authority's developmental and tourism initiatives. Dr. Al-Maghlouth affirmed that the Khobar Season 2025 will represent an important contributor to the local economy by increasing hotel occupancy rates and stimulating the hospitality and retail sectors, enhancing the Eastern Province's status as a national destination for culture, tourism, and entertainment, reflecting the vibrancy and cultural and social diversity of the region.
Dr. Al-Maghlouth added that the total expected spending during the season exceeds 85 million riyals, reflecting the significant positive economic impact it will have on the city and its facilities. He also clarified that the season will provide more than 7,200 direct and indirect jobs, contributing to supporting national competencies and enhancing youth participation in the events and tourism industry.
