لم تفلح الثياب التي ارتداها المسافرون من محافظة جدة إلى منطقة تبوك في تدفئتهم، بعدما تفاجؤوا بالفارق الكبير في درجات الحرارة، إذ جاءت درجة الحرارة في محافظة جدة كأعلى درجة حرارة مسجلة في السعودية بـ30 درجة، بينما سجلت كل من: تبوك، والدوادمي، وطريف، والقريات، والطائف درجتين مئويتين فقط.
وبلغت الحرارة 3 درجات مئوية في كل من سكاكا وحائل، في حين وصلت إلى 4 درجات مئوية في بريدة وبيشة ورفحاء، في تباين ملحوظ في درجات الحرارة بين المناطق.
وشهدت مناطق عدة في المملكة انخفاضاً ملحوظاً في درجات الحرارة، وسط توقعات باستمرار الأجواء الباردة خلال الأيام القادمة.
وفي استمرار لتباين درجات الحرارة، سجلت مكة المكرمة 29 درجة مئوية، وجازان 28 درجة، وينبع 24، والمدينة المنورة والخرج ووادي الدواسر 19 درجة.
وجاءت درجات الحرارة الكبرى على مدن الدمام ونجران 18، الأحساء 17، الرياض والباحة 15، طريف 13، أبها وحائل والسودة 12 درجة مئوية.
طقس غير مستقر
وكان طقس العرب، الموقع المتخصص في الطقس والأرصاد، قد أكد أن المختصين يتابعون عن كثب ما تُشير إليه آخر مخرجات النماذج العددية من احتمالية تأثر عدد من الدول العربية خلال الأسبوع الحالي بطقس غير مستقر وفرص هطول أمطار وثلوج، يرافقها البرق والرعد ونشاط الرياح السطحية، وتشمل هذه التقلبات الجوية أجزاء من المغرب والجزائر وتونس ولبنان وفلسطين والسعودية وقطر والإمارات.
بدء الانقلاب الشتوي
وأكد أستاذ المناخ السابق بجامعة القصيم الدكتور عبدالله المسند أن فصل الشتاء فلكياً يبدأ مساء الأحد، مع حلول الانقلاب الشتوي، الذي يُعد علامة الانتقال الرسمي إلى أبرد فصول العام، ويشهد تعامد الشمس على مدار الجدي جنوب الكرة الأرضية عند الساعة 06:03 مساءً، معلناً بدء فصل الشتاء الذي يستمر نحو 89 يوماً.
وبيَّن أن هذا اليوم يشهد أطول ليل وأقصر نهار في السنة بالمملكة وجميع المناطق شمال خط الاستواء، ويعد نهار الرياض أقصر بنحو 3 ساعات و4 دقائق مقارنة بنهار 21 يونيو الماضي، المصادف للانقلاب الصيفي.
وأشار إلى أن درجات الحرارة قد تسجل انخفاضات لافتة خلال هذه الفترة، مستشهداً بتسجيل درجة الحرارة العظمى في مثل هذا اليوم من عام 1993 نحو 8 درجات مئوية فقط في الرياض.
The clothes worn by travelers from Jeddah to the Tabuk region did not keep them warm, as they were surprised by the significant temperature difference. The temperature in Jeddah reached the highest recorded temperature in Saudi Arabia at 30 degrees, while Tabuk, Al-Dawadmi, Turaif, Al-Qurayyat, and Taif recorded only 2 degrees Celsius.
The temperature reached 3 degrees Celsius in both Sakaka and Hail, while it reached 4 degrees Celsius in Buraidah, Bisha, and Rafha, showing a noticeable variation in temperatures between regions.
Several areas in the Kingdom witnessed a significant drop in temperatures, with expectations of continued cold weather in the coming days.
In a continuation of the temperature variations, Makkah recorded 29 degrees Celsius, Jazan 28 degrees, Yanbu 24, and Medina, Al-Kharj, and Wadi Al-Dawasir 19 degrees.
The maximum temperatures in the cities of Dammam and Najran were 18, Al-Ahsa 17, Riyadh and Al-Baha 15, Turaif 13, and Abha, Hail, and Al-Soudah 12 degrees Celsius.
Unstable Weather
Arab Weather, the specialized weather and meteorology site, confirmed that specialists are closely monitoring what the latest outputs of numerical models indicate regarding the possibility of several Arab countries being affected by unstable weather this week, with chances of rain and snow, accompanied by lightning, thunder, and active surface winds. These weather fluctuations include parts of Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, Lebanon, Palestine, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and the UAE.
Start of the Winter Solstice
Dr. Abdullah Al-Masnad, a former climate professor at Qassim University, confirmed that winter officially begins on Sunday evening with the arrival of the winter solstice, which marks the official transition to the coldest season of the year. The sun will be directly overhead at the Tropic of Capricorn in the southern hemisphere at 06:03 PM, announcing the start of winter, which lasts for about 89 days.
He indicated that this day witnesses the longest night and the shortest day of the year in the Kingdom and all regions north of the equator, with the day in Riyadh being about 3 hours and 4 minutes shorter compared to the day of June 21, which coincides with the summer solstice.
He pointed out that temperatures may record significant drops during this period, citing that the maximum temperature on this day in 1993 was only about 8 degrees Celsius in Riyadh.
