السعودية.. أيادٍ سخية لإنقاذ السودان

The bilateral relations between Saudi Arabia and Sudan, which are based on cooperation, shared destiny, mutual interests, and the stability and security of both countries, as well as the investment of their significant human and material capabilities, represent the hallmark of partnership and brotherly ties.

On the occasion of the eleventh anniversary of the pledge of allegiance to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, the Sudanese people recall a package of humanitarian aid and generous Saudi support for their country, which included petroleum derivatives, wheat, and medicines, as well as the Kingdom's ongoing invitation to the Sudanese people, across all their segments and orientations, to prioritize national interests in a way that fulfills their aspirations and hopes for prosperity, development, and flourishing.

The Sudanese people always affirm that Saudi Arabia has been and continues to be the main supporter of their country over the decades, including efforts to pressure their creditors to reach a broad agreement to reduce its debts amounting to $50 billion, with the aim of restoring Sudan to its rightful place among the nations of the world. The Kingdom also committed to providing $1.5 billion as a grant and part of the economic assistance it had approved for Sudan in 2019, including $750 million deposited in the account of the Sudanese government, and $500 million allocated to help solve the crises of wheat, medicine, petroleum, and some other commodities, in addition to depositing $250 million in the Sudanese central bank in May 2019.

In March 2021, the Kingdom pledged to invest $3 billion in a joint fund for investment in Sudan, and in 2021, it provided $400 million to assist in providing agricultural production inputs for the summer and winter seasons of that year.

The Kingdom has made significant efforts and hosted the parties to the conflict in Sudan (the army and the Rapid Support Forces) at the Jeddah 1 and 2 platforms, resulting in decisions that support humanitarian efforts for the Sudanese people, which contributed to alleviating the humanitarian crisis. It also collaborated with international partners in Geneva (Allies for Saving Lives and Peace in Sudan), achieving positive outcomes, including the opening of several land crossings with neighboring countries and the introduction of humanitarian aid.

The Kingdom continues to provide assistance to the Sudanese people, including various forms of aid (relief, humanitarian, and medical) worth $115 million to provide food assistance, health services, water, sanitation, shelter, and food supplies for the displaced and refugees.
