أجرى الرئيس الفرنسي، إيمانويل ماكرون، اتصالاً هاتفياً، أمس (الثلاثاء) بولي العهد رئيس مجلس الوزراء الأمير محمد بن سلمان، أعلن خلاله عن تعاون مشترك بين بلاده والمملكة العربية السعودية لترؤس مؤتمر دولي حول حل الدولتين، في نيويورك 22 سبتمبر الجاري.
ويهدف المؤتمر إلى حشد دعم عالمي واسع لحل الدولتين، الذي يُعتبر السبيل الأمثل لتحقيق السلام، وسط تصاعد التوترات في المنطقة.
وفي تغريدة على منصة «إكس» عبّر ماكرون عن استيائه من قرار الولايات المتحدة رفض منح تأشيرات لمسؤولين فلسطينيين، واصفاً الإجراء بـ«غير المقبول».
وطالب الرئيس الفرنسي بإلغاء القرار الأمريكي وضمان مشاركة فلسطينية كاملة في المؤتمر وفقاً لاتفاقية الدولة المضيفة، مؤكداً أن التمثيل الفلسطيني ضروري لنجاح المباحثات.
ويتركز المؤتمر على أربعة محاور رئيسية: تحقيق وقف إطلاق نار دائم في غزة، وإطلاق سراح جميع الرهائن، وتوفير مساعدات إنسانية واسعة النطاق لسكان القطاع، ونشر بعثة دولية لتثبيت الاستقرار.
وتأتي هذه المبادرة في ظل تصاعد التوترات في الأراضي الفلسطينية، إذ شهد قطاع غزة تصعيداً عسكرياً متكرراً خلال العامين الماضيين، أدى إلى تفاقم الأزمة الإنسانية، ويعاني القطاع من نقص حاد في الإمدادات الطبية والغذائية، مع نزوح مئات الآلاف من السكان.
وتسعى السعودية وفرنسا، بدعم من شركاء دوليين، إلى إعادة إحياء مسار السلام المتعثر، مع التركيز على حل الدولتين كإطار لتحقيق الاستقرار طويل الأمد.
وأشار ماكرون إلى أن أي محاولات للهجوم، أو ضم الأراضي، أو التهجير القسري للسكان لن تعرقل الزخم الذي بدأ بالتشكل، والذي انضمت إليه دول عديدة، مؤكداً أن المؤتمر يهدف إلى أن يكون نقطة تحول تاريخية لإنهاء الصراع وتحقيق السلام والأمن في المنطقة.
The French President, Emmanuel Macron, made a phone call yesterday (Tuesday) to Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman, during which he announced a joint cooperation between his country and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to chair an international conference on the two-state solution, in New York on September 22.
The conference aims to garner broad global support for the two-state solution, which is considered the best way to achieve peace amid rising tensions in the region.
In a tweet on the platform "X," Macron expressed his discontent with the United States' decision to deny visas to Palestinian officials, describing the action as "unacceptable."
The French president called for the cancellation of the American decision and for ensuring full Palestinian participation in the conference in accordance with the host country agreement, emphasizing that Palestinian representation is essential for the success of the discussions.
The conference will focus on four main axes: achieving a permanent ceasefire in Gaza, releasing all hostages, providing extensive humanitarian aid to the residents of the sector, and deploying an international mission to stabilize the situation.
This initiative comes amid rising tensions in the Palestinian territories, as the Gaza Strip has witnessed repeated military escalations over the past two years, leading to a worsening humanitarian crisis, with the sector suffering from severe shortages of medical and food supplies, and hundreds of thousands of residents displaced.
Saudi Arabia and France, with the support of international partners, are seeking to revive the stalled peace process, focusing on the two-state solution as a framework for achieving long-term stability.
Macron pointed out that any attempts at aggression, annexation of land, or forced displacement of populations will not hinder the momentum that has begun to form, which many countries have joined, affirming that the conference aims to be a historic turning point to end the conflict and achieve peace and security in the region.
