The Ministry of Education emphasized the importance of teachers performing supervision duties and overseeing students at the start of the official working hours, 15 minutes before the morning assembly, and no more than 30 minutes after its conclusion. They should also attend the morning assembly, activate the national anthem and salute it, and participate in the daily supervision of students when the number of administrative staff in the school is less than 5 employees.
The ministry clarified, in the organizational guide for public education schools, the tasks and duties specific to teachers, including covering waiting periods according to the schedule prepared by the administrative committee and approved by the school principal, not exceeding a total of 35 hours per week combined with official working hours. They should also address any urgent shortages as directed by the school administration, maintain order and discipline among students according to policies to ensure their compliance with those policies inside and outside the school building, and plan for classroom and extracurricular activities by the expert teacher (if available). The practicing teacher and the advanced teacher should participate in the preparation and implementation of these activities, such as meetings, professional development programs within the school, and open professional growth outside the school, which relate to learners, curricula, school organization, and self-development academically, professionally, and educationally. They should attend courses and workshops organized by the general education administration or the specialized school excellence support service provider according to the specified organization and time, and maintain continuous communication with parents in cooperation with the student counselor to inform and educate them about their children's performance and highlight any aspects that require attention, as well as build community partnerships with community institutions.
It was clarified that a report should be prepared detailing the activities, achievements, and obstacles encountered while carrying out teaching duties, understanding the psychological characteristics of the age group being taught, and the social characteristics of adults, or the characteristics of the stage. They should also undertake any tasks assigned by the school principal that align with their responsibilities, promote values of belonging and citizenship, pride in Islam, and maintain national security. They should follow up on programs and activities that foster pride in religion, loyalty to the king, and belonging to the homeland, respect students, and treat them in an educational manner that ensures their safety and reassurance, develops their personality, instills a sense of value, considers their talents, fosters a love of knowledge, cultivates good behavior and affection for others, and instills integrity and self-confidence, while supporting the school's objectives by identifying opportunities for improvement and addressing student issues.
