The preparations at Mina have been completed to welcome the guests of Allah for the Hajj season, while various sectors have announced their readiness as part of the ongoing efforts made by the Kingdom and its commitment to providing the highest levels of comfort and reassurance for the guests of Allah, according to the highest standards of organization and quality.
Mina is located between Mecca and Muzdalifah, about 7 kilometers northeast of the Holy Mosque. It is a site within the sacred boundaries, a valley surrounded by mountains on the northern and southern sides, and is inhabited only during the Hajj period. It is bordered on the Mecca side by the Jamrat al-Aqaba and on the Muzdalifah side by the Wadi Muhassir.
The preparations include comprehensive logistical, security, and health arrangements to accommodate millions of pilgrims coming from various parts of the world. The preparations included the installation of more than 500 misting fans over an area exceeding 35,000 square meters, as part of a shading and cooling project aimed at reducing exposure to sunlight and providing a comfortable environment for the pilgrims.
The preparations also included the development of infrastructure, including the road network and stations for the Holy Sites train, which operates to transport pilgrims between the sites efficiently, with a capacity of 72,000 pilgrims per hour. These efforts contribute to facilitating the movement of pilgrims and reducing congestion during the rituals.
The Hajj security forces have confirmed their readiness to ensure the safety of the pilgrims, as simulation exercises for crowd management and emergencies have been conducted in Mina in coordination with various sectors, along with aerial monitoring by security aviation to ensure the smooth movement of pilgrims, in addition to providing advanced medical and nursing services to secure the safety of the guests of Allah.
As the Day of Tarwiyah approaches, the 8th of Dhul-Hijjah, Mina is preparing to receive the pilgrims for the first stages of the rituals. Pilgrims spend this day in Mina before heading to Arafat, and these comprehensive preparations affirm the Kingdom's commitment to providing a safe and facilitated Hajj experience.
